I had this magnificent black wolf sitting in front of me. It just sat there and watched me. It didn't seem to want to hurt me anyway. It just sat and watched with its big blue eyes. Something must have excited this wolf coz its tail just started wagging out of nowhere.

Suddenly, the wolf stood up and closed the distance between us. oh! It's a girl wolf I realized as she stood directly next to me. She sniffed my injured and gently nudged my non injured side. She nudged and nudged until finally I had managed into a sitting position with most of my weight leaning onto the wolf. She pushed her huge head under my left arm. I mean I have never in my entire life seen a wolf this big. On all fours she would probably be around my height. She kept lift her body up slowly and dropping back down. After a few times of doing this, I finally realized that she was trying to help me stand up. I tightened my grip around her neck and got my legs under me as she took on my full weight and lifted my up. Still a bit shaky and sore I continued to hold onto her.

She slowly guided me towards my backdoor and I gladly allowed her to do so. If someone told that one day I would be getting help from an enormous black wolf that saved me from another enormous brown wolf and that said wolf would be helping me back into my house and proceeded to sit in my bedroom as I tried to clean up my bloodied self as her blue eyes kept looking around my room!?... haahaa... Nope, I would have said they off their damn rockers. But here I am... Cleaning up my wounds with a black wolf in my room.

I left the wolf in my room as I made my way back downstairs to get a bowl with water and 2 clothes. I got some bandages out from the upstairs bathroom along with some rubbing alcohol. With everything carefully balanced in my arms I went back to my room. She was lying down now with her head on her paws but lifted it slightly when I walked in. I left her alone and proceeded to take my shirt off. It was a bit of a struggle trying to get out of it with searing pain shooting along my right shoulder every time I tried to move. Mumbling under my breath with the pain I finally managed to maneuver that damn shirt off my body. Soaking one of the clothes in the water I rung it out and began to gently clean out the wounds. I wiped the blood from my body that had dried up. Dreading the next part as I poured some of the alcohol onto the clean cloth, I stood still for a few seconds. I knew I couldn't prolong this forever so I placed the cloth over my right shoulder quickly to just get it over with.

"Shit," I hissed loudly as soon as the alcohol hit the open wound. I gritted my teeth as the stinging sensation continued for a few more seconds as I rubbed it all over the wounds. Sighing in relief, glad for that to be over, I awkwardly bandaged up my right shoulder. I decided not to cover up my eye coz it was not that deep and it had stopped bleeding. I took a clean shirt out of my closet and slipped it over my head carefully so my eye wouldn't start bleeding again and did some maneuvering to get my right arm into the long sleeves without causing further pain.

I sat on my bed completely drained after everything that has happened. I stared at the black wolf on my bedroom floor and noticed all the blood covering her fur. I wonder if she will let me clean her up. She did save me after all it's the least I could do for her. I debated for a few more seconds whether or not it was a good idea to push boundaries with a wild animal and being that I was all for bad ideas I went and got another cloth. I cleaned out the bloodied water in the bowl and replaced it with clean water.

Kai's POV:

My mate kneeled in front of me with the wet cloth and the bowl of water. I knew what she wanted to do but she looked a bit nervous. I made things a bit easier for her and I flopped over onto my side showing my underbelly hoping she would take this as a sign to continue. It worked. She brought the closer to my fur and started gently wiping away the dry blood that stuck to my fur. Her touch was so gentle, so soft. She worked quietly and slowly. She looked to still be in pain. It was killing me that I couldn't just shift right here, take her into my arms and hold her forever.

His bite was deep enough in her shoulder to release his venom into her. I could already smell the change taking place within her. Her scent was changing. She still smelt like lavender to me but she no longer smelt human.

She was transitioning.

She is going to need help through all this. Especially through her first shift. I was so lost in thought I hadn't realized she had finished wiping my fur and was now sitting cross legged next me running her fingers through my fur. The sparks that coursed through my body from her touch was electrifying. I leant further into her touch when she started scratching behind my ear. A melodic giggle left her lips from my reaction.

Suddenly, I perked my ears up at the sound of a car in the driveway. There was a brief moment of panic flash across this girl's beautiful face. I didn't wait around to get caught. I bolted out of her room not waiting for her to chase me out and flew down the stairs and out the backdoor and sprinted into the safety of the thick trees.

It was getting a bit late so I headed back home. I knew I needed to meet her again but I needed to go in my human form. I need her to get to know me as Kai. I need to help her transition as well.

I was worried about her, about my mate, but I'm so happy that I finally found her. After years of searching and almost giving up, I found her. I just hope she doesn't reject me as her mate.

"Stop thinking so much, Pup," Akira said as doubt was starting to fill my mind.

Riley's POV:

The sound of the car must have scared her. She took off running as soon as she heard it. Thank goodness she left without much convincing; I have no idea how I was going to explain that situation to anyone. I quickly hid the bloodied cloths and emptied the bowl out in the bathroom. I made it back to my room and shut the door as I heard footsteps upstairs getting closer to my room.

"Riles," my dad called from the other side of my door as he knocked a few times.

"Yeah, dad. Come in."

"How was your da—"he stopped mid-sentence as his eyes landed on my face when he entered my room, "Oh my goodness, Riley! What happened to your face?"

"It's nothing dad. I just tripped and well ta-daaaa," I said nervously knowing that is so far from what actually happened. I didn't wanna tell him what happened. I felt like this is something that I should probably keep to myself. Besides, I really hope that I get to see the black wolf again and if I tell people, they might go hunting for her. I didn't want that to happen. This was going to be my secret.

"Jeez! You really need to be more careful," he said thankfully believing my cover story. He made to leave and closed my door, I sighed out in relief letting go of the breath I didn't realize I was holding in and flopped down onto my bed.

"Oh and I bought some Chinese for supper," he opened the door just as quickly as he closed it. I felt like I deer in headlights about to get caught out.

I nodded quickly acknowledging his statement and was glad when he left and I heard the door of his room close shut.

No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get her out of my head. This wolf has completely taken over my mind. Fur as black as the darkest night with incredible blue eyes that seemed to hold so much emotion. But it was those eyes, those blue eyes that had me. So familiar yet so strange to me.
