Carleigh's POV:
*after school*
The final bell rang and I shoved my books into my bag and grabbed Nat's hand and pulled him out of the room. We pushed through the hallway filled with people and filed down the stairs. I was beyond happy to get out of school. "Slow down, Carls. We have all day to hang out." Nat shouted over the voices around us. We made it outside and pulled our skateboards out and began rolling down the pavement. "The usual?" he asked. We always go to the same place for lunch on half days. I nodded and we headed for the nearest McDonald's. When we got there, Nat held the door open and let me go in. We were the only ones in line so there was no waiting. "Hi welcome to McDonald's. What can I get for you today?" the lady at the counter asked pleasantly. Nat stepped up. "Hi we'd like a double quarter pounder with cheese, no onions, a grilled chicken bacon club, two large fries, a large Sprite, a large blueberry pomegranate smoothie and an Oreo McFlurry please." He said ordering both our meals. I pulled out my money but Nat stopped me. "I got it." he smiled. I huffed. I Hated when he paid for me. It made me feel like I couldn't take care of myself. We got our food and carried our bags outside and rode to his house, which was only two blocks away.
He opened the door and we set our bag on the coffee table. "Natty!" Megan cheered as she ran down the stairs. "Hey, Kiddo. How was school?" "Good. Did you get me anything?" she smiled eyeing the bags. "One sec." he said and began searching through them. He pulled out the McFlurry and handed it to his sister who hugged his legs and carried her ice cream back up stairs. We sat down on the sofa and pulled out food out. I handed Nat his burger and he handed me my smoothie. "Oh wait!" he hopped up and turned on the TV. He went to Netflix and turned on the Big Bang Theory. We sat in silence and ate our food, just enjoying each others' company. The room felt chilly all of a sudden, like someone had opened the windows. I shivered slightly and tried not to move to much, but as always, Nat noticed. "Cold?" he asked. I just shrugged. "You might not know it, but you're a terrible liar." he said scooting closer to me, wrapping his arm around my shoulders and pulling me in. I laid my head on his chest and left the warmth wrap around me. I had this weird tingly felling in the middle of my stomach. It felt fuzzy and hot, but in a really really good way. We've sat like this before but I'v never had this feeling. As I wondered what was happening, I breathed in Nat's cologne and realized how good it smelled. The tingly feeling grew stronger. I looked up at Nat. He was watching the television, his eyes glued to the screen. He bit his bottom lip and smiled at something on the screen. He always bit his lip when he was focused on something. It was actually kind of attractive. The feeling continued to grow. "What is this?" I wondered. He smiled again and something happened with his cheek. "He has dimples?!" Why haven't I noticed those before? Why am I noticing them now? What's going on?
"I'll tell you what's going on. You like him." A voice in the back of my head said.
"That's crazy talk. I do not."
"Oh, yes you do. You're staring at him."
"I was not. I was... um... observing. Yeah, observing."
"Observing what? His dimples or the cute way he bites his lip?"
"Maybe but-"
"Whacha looking at?" Nat asked. I shrugged and looked down, blushing. He laughed and rubbed my arm. "His laugh is cute to." I thought. Maybe I do like him.
"Told you."
"Shut up! Go away!"
