8 months later
Rex Dorian lay motionless in a sterile hospital room for what felt like an eternity. He had pushed himself to the brink, sacrificing everything for the sake of his peerage. The unstable sacred gear he had created had taken a toll on his body, and now he was trapped in a deep and unforgiving coma. His queen, Seekveira Agares, stood vigil by his side, her regal demeanor now marred by worry and despair.
The room was filled with a heavy silence, only broken by the soft beeping of the heart monitor that served as a constant reminder of Rex's fragile existence. Seekveira clutched his hand, her nails digging into his skin as if she could will him back to consciousness. The tears in her eyes glistened as they threatened to spill over, but she remained resolute, a queen who had lost her king.
The bishops, Makima and Elizabeth Liones, stood on either side of the bed. They, too, had been deeply affected by Rex's sacrifice. Makima, usually cold and calculating, now wore an expression of sorrow, her sharp eyes glazed with unshed tears. Elizabeth, with her gentle demeanor, held back her own emotions, but the sadness in her eyes spoke volumes.
Miko, the nekoushou skilled in senjitsu and staff, sat quietly in a corner of the room. She had always been a pillar of strength, but even she couldn't hide the pain etched in her feline features. She knew Rex had put everything on the line for them, and now they faced the consequences of his sacrifice.
Rex's pawn, Miko, and his other pawns, Rem and Ram were also present in the room. They were all not just his loyal servants but his beloved lovers. Each of them wore expressions of profound grief, their eyes red from hours of crying. The room felt suffocated by the weight of their sorrow.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Rex began to stir. His eyelids fluttered open, and his gaze met Seekveira's. The room seemed to hold its breath as he struggled to sit up, his body weakened and frail. Seekveira leaned down and pressed her lips to his, a mixture of relief and grief in the kiss.
Tears streamed down her face, and she whispered,
Miko:You're back, my king. You're back.
Rex's voice was weak as he replied
Rex:i couldn't leave all of you behind.
He coughed
His reunion with his peerage was filled with a bittersweet mixture of joy and sorrow. They had him back, but the cost of his return weighed heavily on their hearts. The room echoed with their shared pain, a reminder that love and sacrifice often went hand in hand in the world of high-class devils.
As Rex slowly regained his strength, his peerage surrounded him, their voices filled with a mix of relief, anger, and love. Seekveira was the first to speak, her voice trembling with emotion.
Seekveira:Rex, you nearly sacrificed yourself to that unstable sacred gear you created. You were willing to give up everything for us. Do you know how much we worried? How close we were to losing you forever?
Rex's gaze moved from Seekveira to each of his bishops, Makima and Elizabeth. Makima's usually stoic demeanor had given way to raw vulnerability. She spoke softly,
Makima:You're not alone in this, Rex. We share the burden of your sacrifice, and we won't let it be in vain.
Elizabeth added,
Elizabeth:you're our king and lover and we're here to support you, even if it means facing the consequences of your actions.
Miko, the nekoushou skilled in senjitsu and staff, stepped forward. Her tail flicked nervously as she spoke
Miko:Rex, you put yourself on the line for us, for me. I can't bear the thought of losing you. I love you more than words can express.
Rex's gaze then shifted to his pawns, Miko, Rem, and Ram from Re:Zero. Rem was the first to speak, her eyes brimming with tears.
