Rex's POV:

"REX NYA~"

I barely had time to react before Miko practically launched herself at me. Her small frame collided with mine, arms wrapping around my torso, her face buried against my chest as she sobbed uncontrollably. I felt the tears soaking into my shirt, and for a moment, I stood there, motionless, just taking it all in.

Her fists pounded weakly against my chest, over and over again, not out of anger, but out of frustration-out of fear.

Miko:Idiot! Idiot! Idiot!

she yelled between sobs, her voice muffled against my chest. Each word hit harder than her fists, filled with raw emotion, with everything she had been holding back. I gently rested a hand on her head, trying to calm her down, but she wasn't letting up.

Miko:I-I thought you weren't going to come back! You scared me, you big idiot!

Miko's voice broke with emotion, and she clung to me like if she let go, I'd vanish again.

I let out a soft sigh, trying to soothe her. "I'm sorry, Miko," I whispered, my voice barely above a murmur.

Miko:I'm here now. I'm not going anywhere.

By my side, I could feel the presence of Makima and Seekveira, the two of them standing silently, watching the scene unfold. Makima's usual cold expression softened, though her eyes remained as unreadable as ever, while Seekveira stood with a knowing look on her face. They had been with me throughout this whole ordeal, accompanying me back from the hospital, witnessing the chaos I had caused firsthand.

In front of me, the others stood gathered. Elizabeth was there, arms crossed, her usually sharp, regal demeanor cracked with concern. Rizurre stood beside her, her face unusually serious, her usual carefree attitude replaced with something far more somber. Rem and Ram, the twin maids, had their hands clasped in front of them, their faces filled with worry. Ruby, Blake, Yang, and Weiss were there too, standing just a bit farther back, their eyes filled with a mixture of relief and frustration.

Everyone looked like they had been through hell, and I couldn't blame them. Not after what I had done.

Elizabeth was the first to speak after what felt like an eternity.

Elizabeth:Do you have any idea what you put us through?

Her voice was stern, but underneath the surface, I could hear the concern, the fear she had been carrying.

Elizabeth:You could have died, Rex. We all thought you were-

She stopped, her voice catching in her throat. She quickly cleared her throat, regaining her composure.

Elizabeth:You pulled a stunt that no one could understand.

I rubbed the back of my neck, feeling the weight of everyone's gaze on me. "Yeah... I know."

I glanced down at Miko, who still hadn't let go of me, her arms tightening around me like a vice. I gently stroked her hair, trying to calm her, but her sobs were relentless.

Ruby:We were all so worried about you

Ruby chimed in, her voice soft but strained.

Ruby:I mean, you just... you went off and did something so reckless. What were we supposed to think?

Blake, standing next to Ruby, nodded, her cat ears twitching slightly as she spoke.

Blake:I get that you were trying to handle things in your own way, but you could have at least told us, Rex. We had no idea what was going on. We thought... we thought you might not make it.
