I had attached myself to the yellow haired girl. I had to find a new host fast. The previous one had no more energy to give. I sat there waiting for the perfect host.

Jaune POV

Pyrrha and I had just arrived at the hospital to visit yang. When we entered the room she was unconscious. I didn't know what to do. Y/N had told us what happened. I honestly began to doubt y/n's abilities to be a hero. But seeing the damage made it worse.

I put my hand on Yang's remaining arm and thought about how I could have prevented it. Pyrrha and I both closed our eyes and began crying.

Y/N POV

I sat in Ruby's room watching as she sat curled up in a ball.

Y/N: it's not your fault.

Ruby:*sobbing* but she attacked him because my weapon broke.

Y/N: everything was Adam's fault not yours.

Ruby:*Crying* and now I'm just wasting your time when you could be helping people.

Y/N: you are a person too. And you are just as important as everyone else. Come here.

I wrapped my arms around ruby and gave her a hug.

Ruby continued to sob into a pillow. I decided that maybe happiness wasn't the correct approach. I laid down next to ruby and wrapped my hug tighter and finally decided to let myself take in reality. I began crying. Ruby and I began crying into each other's shoulders.

It was evening when we were finished. I could feel ruby begin snoring.

I was attempting to leave but then ruby slowly pulled me back in.

Y/N: alright just for tonight.

I fell asleep next to ruby.

When I woke up the next morning ruby was still asleep. I walked down the stairs to find tai sitting on a chair with a smirk on his face next to qrow.

Tai: looks like someone is finally getting together.

Y/N: what are you talking about?

Who am I kidding i know what they are talking about.

Qrow: everyone's noticed and been rooting for it since your guys 5th grade year.

Y/N: was it that obvious?

Tai: absolutely.

Y/N: I just don't know if her and I could actually make it work. I'm always busy and you guys are in a pretty bad situation right now.

Tai: which is exactly why she needs you. You brighten up her world in ways I never thought possible.

Qrow: she needs that right now. She needs the person who has been with her since the beginning.

Y/N: you're right.

Qrow: good cause I bet 100 lien on this.
