this chapter is gonna be like how beth was doing a little voice over in the episode intro so yeah
This is really stupid and is nothing like me at all to write in a journal. The last time i've written in one was in middle school. But, Beth told me it's helped her with expressing herself or something like that so i'm gonna start writing in this.We found a prison a couple months ago, maybe even a year and it's been pretty homey if i'm being honest. We've grown food, found water, found more people, lost some people. It's been pretty safe but i've been having bad feelings that something is gonna happen. Or maybe i've just been paranoid over nothing.
Me, Maggie, and Glenn have been hanging out more and I love them with my whole heart. They are my best friends in this entire world and we have been through a lot together. Mariam and Gia have been with me as well. Mariam's been the bad kid she always has been while Gia has been talking to Carl a lot more. They're pretty cute together.
I just got back from a run a couple hours ago. Zack got bit and Bob almost did. I wanted to help Zack but Daryl held me back from doing so because by the time I processed Zack got bit, he fell to the floor and the walker was biting at his face. I wondered how Beth was gonna react but she didn't really have a reaction. She told me she didn't cry anymore which is very sad. Your supposed to cry and express yourself but maybe its just because we've been losing people and she doesn't need to cry over the same thing, over and over.
I tried to forget the walkers existed the first few months in this prison but, I can still hear them. No matter where or what i'm doing they always echo in my head. Pinned inside my brain.

"We should do something." Beth spoke as the trio sat beside a fire. "We should do something." She repeated louder when Daryl ignored her. Fiona was almost asleep on Beth's shoulder, but her talking louder caused her to wake up again. "We aren't the only survivors. We can't be. Rick, Michonne they could be out here. Maggie and Glenn could have made it out the A block. They could've." Daryl ignored her, staring at the fire.
"They did. And we'll find 'em." Fiona reassured the girl, rubbing her hand up and down the girls back.
"Yeah, You're a tracker. You can track." Beth stood up, helping Fiona off the floor as well. "Come on. The sun will be up soon. If we head out now, we can—" Beth stopped talking when she realized Daryl wasn't paying any mind to her. "Fine. If you won't, I will." Beth grabbed her knife out of the ground and started walking away.
Fiona made eye contact with Daryl before helping him off the ground and grabbing her gun, following after the blonde who ran into the forest.
The morning came and still no signs of anyone. Fiona didn't loose hope. She couldn't. Her sisters were out there. Her family was. Hopefully together.
Beth stopped Fiona when she saw Daryl squat on the floor and play around with the leaves and dirt. They two walked over and saw shoe marks.
"Could be Luke's. Or Molly's. Whoever they are, it means they're alive." Beth looked over the archers shoulder.
"No. This means they were alive four or five hours ago." Daryl disagreed and Beth looked at him with a 'are you serious' look.
"They're alive." She walked away with Fiona by her side as they followed the foot prints in the dirt.
"They picked up the pace right here. Got out in a hurry. Things went bad."
"Wouldn't kill you to have a little faith."
"Yeah, faith. Faith ain't done shit for us. Sure as hell didn't do nothing for your father."
"Daryl." Fiona looked at him as Beth turned around and glared before putting her knife back in the hold and grabbing stuff from a bush.
"They'll be hungry when we find them." Beth says and Daryl pulls out a bandanna from his pocket and handed it to Beth.
Daryl sighed before following the foot prints. Fiona looked at Beth and nodded her head at Daryl, Beth nodding her head in response as they both walked to him.
*there is gonna be a lot of these*
"What?" Beth asked Fiona when she touched a leaf and ran her finger over it.
"That's not walker blood." Fiona replied, looking at Beth. "And the rest of the tracks is just walker prints."
"At least a dozen of 'em." Daryl adds.
A twig snapped and Beth quickly pulled out her knife and looked around, Fiona doing the same. Fiona was pretty far away from Beth while the walker launched at her, her fighting back obviously.
Daryl tried shooting the walker but it kept pulling Beth in front of it while it tried biting so he threw the crossbow on the floor and shoved the walker to the floor by it's shirt, Fiona stabbing it in the head when Daryl flipped the walker on top of him. The only noise is Daryl panting.
"Come on." He mumbled as he walked away.
The trio ended up meeting train tracks and turned to see three walkers feeding on bodies. The kids bodies. Daryl quickly shot the three walkers before picking up his arrows and walking onto the train track.
Fiona just stared at the shoe that belonged to Luke until she heard crying from beside her. Fiona rubbed her hand against Beth's back and Daryl nodded for them to walk away. Fiona just stared at him while he walked away, stopping when he realized they weren't gonna follow.
We are the ones that live. We always will be. I know we will be because we are strong and we haven't died yet, obviously.
