Forest. Night. Near the river.
The moonlight danced over the surface of the water, casting silver ripples across the darkened forest. The trees whispered softly, as though bearing witness to something sacred.
Li Susu stood still, her eyes glistening as she looked at him—at Miang Tao. No… not just Miang Tao. Tantai Jin. Her heart thudded quietly in her chest, each beat echoing with the pain, the love, the years of separation.
He was still speaking—his voice gentle, full of reasons, full of hope, full of ache.
Reasons for her to stay. Reasons not to leave. But she couldn’t hear them anymore.
Not because they didn’t matter—but because her heart had already decided.
Without a word, she stepped forward. And then... she placed her lips gently against his.
It wasn’t a kiss. Not yet. It was a question, a confession, a trembling breath held between two fates. Their lips merely touched, but it was enough to make the world fall silent.
His breath caught. His eyes widened—those deep, dark eyes, as vast as the ocean she had once drowned in and never truly surfaced from.
She began to pull away.
But his hand rose—tender, certain—and cupped the back of her neck. And that tentative touch between them melted into something deeper.
His lips claimed hers.
The kiss was slow at first, filled with unspoken longing. Then it deepened, pulling at everything inside them that had remained unsaid for lifetimes. Their pain. Their hope. Their love.
They kissed until time disappeared.
When they finally parted, both were breathing heavily, their foreheads resting together. Their tears mingled, trailing down cheek to cheek as he whispered hoarsely, “What are you doing to me?”
Li Susu smiled faintly, her voice trembling. “What do you think I’m doing?”
She looked into his eyes, and her smile faded into something more fragile, more raw. “And for how long,” she asked, “are you going to keep hiding your truth from me… Tantai Jin?”
He froze. “What… what are you saying?”
Her voice was quiet, but fierce. “Who do you think I am?” she asked. “I am not just a woman wandering into your life. I am a goddess, Tantai Jin. I hold the power of twelve gods and goddesses. When I first saw you—I knew. And that night, in the forest… I was sure. You are my Tantai Jin.”
His breath hitched. “Then why… why did you pretend not to know?”
She reached up and gently touched his face. “Because I needed to see you. All of you. Without memories, without destiny pushing you. I needed to see if your soul—his soul—still loved us. Still loved her.”
She smiled through her tears. “Every time you cradled Jiang’s head. Every time you spoke to her like she mattered… I saw heaven.”
He tried to speak, but his voice caught. “I… I didn’t know how to—”
“Shh,” she said, placing a finger on his lips. “No explanations. You don’t know how much I missed you. You liar… you lied to me. Why?”
His expression broke. “Because the master said… all the disasters that await us—they can only be stopped if I die. And I didn’t want to break your heart again.”
Li Susu’s hands trembled as she clutched the front of his robe. “You think you could save me from heartbreak by hiding from me? I was already broken. But then I found a reason to keep breathing. A reason to love again.”
She stepped closer, her voice a whisper against his chest. “Jiang… our daughter. She brought light back into my life. But even she missed something—her father. And now… you’re here.”
She wrapped her arms around him, burying her face against him as their tears fell freely. “Don’t ever leave again.”
He held her tightly, his voice thick with emotion. “I love you.”
Her grip tightened. “I love you too,” she whispered, her voice choked with the weight of everything they had endured.
A soft chuckle escaped his lips, damp with tears. “Finally. After a thousand years… I get to hear those words from you again.”
She laughed softly through her tears and tapped his chest gently.
Then he whispered, “So tell me… for how many years are you going to love me now?”
She leaned back, her eyes shining like the moonlit river. “Till the end of the moon,” she said. “I will only, ever, love you. You are my everything. And hers too.”
She turned slightly and pointed.
From the trees, a small figure emerged—sleepy-eyed, her soft steps brushing the grass.
Tantai Jiang looked at them, confused. “Where were you both? I was looking everywhere!”
She ran into their arms, wrapping both in a tiny, fierce hug. Miang Tao bent down and embraced her tightly, Li Susu's hand resting over both of them.
And in that moment—beneath the stars, beside the river, wrapped in moonlight and memory—they were whole.
Their story, once shattered across time and tragedy, had finally found its ending.
A beginning, too.
THE END.

The chapter ended, so did the story.
I was never a professional writer nor I claimed to be the one.
After watching "Till the end of the moon", the OG legendary drama, I was heartbroken, and needed something to ease it.
After realising there was no way I can ease it, I ended up finding Wattpad where I decided to write my own chaotic thoughts.
And, voila- here i am.
This story is something I wrote that will always remain nearest my heart. Because I write it with pure intentions and not for any views.
With that, I'm ending this story. Thanks to all of the readers who like this story and supported me.
Thank you, one last time.
Peace! Love you all. ❤️
