ALIA'S POV:
Okay, there is one week till the dinner party so I need to get a dress.
It is extremely cold outside so I will be wearing an overcoat but inside I would have to remove it so I need a proper dress.
I do have a few dresses but let's face it, I want a new one.
Can you blame me?
This is the first time I'll be meeting the people my husband works with every day, sees every day.
I need to look extra good.
Dhruv is working today and Kirti Aunty has gone out with her friends so I thought I would go by myself. I have familiarised myself with some of the places and how to reach them, so I can do this much now.
I could take a taxi but I guess taking a bus would be a better option.
Well, at least that's what I thought.
I got on the wrong bus. And I have no idea where I am.
I got off the bus at its third stop, which is when we usually got off and then walked for ten minutes to reach the shopping centre.
The area where I got off looked oddly similar to the original stop where I had to get off.
I walked for some time but then the surroundings started to change and I got to know that I was at the wrong place.
I traced back my steps to the bus stop and now I don't know when the next one will be coming.
Ahhh!
I think there should be some app where the schedules are given......
Dhruv didn't mention it though.
I was gushing over my situation when some woman, wearing a bright red coat came up to me.
I saw her approaching me from the side of my eye and I looked up.
"Um...excuse me? You look kind of troubled, can I help you with something?"
Her voice was horse, but women-like. Her skin was pale and she was tall and slender. Eye as green as the sea and that jaw-line could cut literal metal. She was dressed very elegantly and her hair looked that they were fresh out of the salon.
A walking model if you'd ask me.
She sat next to me, on the bench that I was sitting on and I followed her movements as she was settling down.
"It's that obvious, huh?" I realised that I was staring and looked back at the black screen of my phone.
I haven't been out on my own in London much but assuming that if you see a brown person with the kind of expression that I must be exhibiting, anyone would come up to you to ask if you needed any help.
"Kind of." She smiled at me squeezed her right eye and lifted her right shoulder, saying that.
I was just thinking of calling Dhruv as my last resort. I don't like troubling him when he's at work so I was kind of skeptical.
"Umm...." I thought for a second but I think that she could help me. She gave off a nice vibe.
"Actually, yeah. I kinda took the wrong bus and now I don't know where I am or how to reach where I was supposed to originally go." I pressed my lips together.
"Okay, where do you need to be?" She asked calmly.
"The shopping mall at the Bernard St."
"Oh, What a coincidence! That's where I am headed."
