As Mike took the lead to the house Jeremy felt nervousness creepy up into his chest. It was a sickening feeling that made him want to throw up his guts. Mike led him to the elevator, grabbing Jeremy's hand in hopes that it will calm him down. As the two entered the elevator Jeremy tensed, Mike noticing this right away. "Jere?" The brunette jumped at the sudden voice, his nerves all over the place. Mike hands moved to Jeremy's shoulders, hoping to get the teen to calm down. "Jeremy look at me." Jeremy slowly turned to face Mike, the enclosed space not helping the situation much. The two guards stared at each other for a bit, taking deep breaths together in attempt to calm each other's nerves. More like Mike was trying to calm the frantic Jeremy. "Now listen to fuck up Jeremy. No matter what I will fight for you. You need to know that. I don't care if it's your dad, he's been hurting you hell knows how long. It's time you fought back, which means I'll be there." A hot blush crept onto Jeremy's face, his brain working to find an answer to the whole spiel Mike just made. Jeremy didn't want Mike to get hurt and he certainly didn't want Mike to meet his dad. The teen could already picture the scene and it wasn't going to be pretty. Finally, faint words stumbled out of the teens mouth.

"T-thank you Mike!" Mike grinned and nodded, turning his attention away from Jeremy. The brunette fiddled with his sleeves, a specific question burning in Jeremy's mind that he wanted to ask badly. After taking a deep breath and filling his lungs with much needed oxygen, the amber-eyed brunette poked Mike's arm. Mike grunted in response, awaiting Jeremy's words. "Umm M-mike, could I ask y-you something?" The icy-eyed man nodded, mentally preparing himself for what Jeremy would ask. "D-do you t-think I could m-move in with y-you? I-I'll help with paying for f-food and e-everything else! I just t-though th-"Mike interrupted Jeremy, making sure that Jeremy truly wanted to live with someone like him. Mike would be more than happy to let Jeremy live with him, but it was a big step and Mike wanted to make sure he wouldn't regret it. Funny thing was it wasn't even Mike's house, it was still his parents and he just choose to live there and not his crummy apartment.

"I ain't gonna sugar coat it Jere, I'm a pretty terrible roommate. You sure about this?" Jeremy nodded, his hair bouncing around like the floofy mess it was. Mike sighed and mumbled, his earlier thoughts rush through his mind. The doors opened, a beep signaling they were on the correct floor. Mike and Jeremy both stepped off and walked over to the door to Jeremy's apartment. They both looked at each other before entering, hoping that Jeremy's dad wasn't inside. Jeremy bolted into his room, Mike yelling after him to grab most of his things since he was living with him now. The shy guard wasted no time in packing what he needed, listing off each item he would need. Jeremy also made a note to tell his landlord that the apartment was no longer needed. That was going to take a lot of paperwork and time that Jeremy didn't have. Mike glanced around the apartment, noting how empty yet clean it was. Jeremy soon emerged from his room with two bags slung over his shoulders, one holding mostly clothing and the other holding personal possessions. When Mike gestured to the furniture Jeremy commented on selling most of it because it was very cheap and Jeremy didn't like them much. A few more things around the house were taken down and put in the bags, Mike noticing a few photographs.

An hour passed and the two were ready to leave the apartment when the sound of loud footsteps reached their ears. Jeremy jumped and instantly knew who it was, making Mike stare at Jeremy before hearing a loud slam. A drunken man entered the room, his words slurring and his head tilted to the side when he spotted Mike.

"Who the fuck are you and what are you doing with my son!" He exclaimed in slow slurred words. Mike felt anger pulse through his veins, but held himself back from punching the guy in the face. Instead, he grabbed Jeremy's hand and one of his bags, startling Jeremy.

"I'm your sons boyfriend and I'm taking him away from this damn place. Now get the fuck outta here before you have to walk home with a limp!" Jeremy squeaked at the term 'boyfriend', not knowing Mike was pretending. Truthfully Mike enjoyed using that term for this little lie. Jeremy's father laughed, it was almost sickening.

"Boyfriend!? So my son is gay and stupid! Priceless!" Jeremy shifted, a bit of his confidence fading, but anger coming through it. Let's just say Mike had begun to influence Jeremy in the slightest.

"At least I have a job and someone who loves me!" Tiny hands covered its owner's mouth the second after the words came spilling out. Jeremy's dad snarled, his body tensing as if he was preparing to land a blow on Jeremy. As he did Mike jumped in, the battle Jeremy had feared begging. It lasted a long time, punches being thrown and objects being broken. Soon the neighbors overheard and immediately came running over, some calling the police in hopes of ending the battle. Police sirens echoed throughout the building minutes later as the two men continued to beat each other senseless. Once the authorities came in, Mike stopped and did as they said as it would help keep him out of jail.

The rest was a blur to Jeremy. He remembers the police asking who each of the men were, why they were fighting and more especially why Jeremy's dad was in the heat of it. The brunette spilled everything, the years of pain coming back in seconds. The police arrested Jeremy's father for child abuse, domestic violence and drunk driving. While Mike was questioned and he only answered with, "He came at me and it was self defense." The night passed by and soon Jeremy and Mike were back home, one covered in business, the other feeling as if he had the weight of the entire world taken off of him. The moment they were inside Jeremy threw his bags in the empty room he sometimes used and went over to Mike who was patching himself up. The brunette wasted no time in playing nurse and getting the last of the wounds cleaned. While bandaging them, Jeremy remembered that Mike had called him his boyfriend. This brought questions to the table.

"H-hey Mike, why did you tell my d-dad we were boyfriends?" Mike tensed a bit, thankful that Jeremy wasn't able to see his uncanny pink face. But this was Mike we were talking about and he decided to lighten the mood in one of the only ways he knew how.

"Oh, just for dramatic effect." Jeremy felt his face heat up at the comment and how sly it sounded.

"Just for effect? You d-didn't have to say we were dating for effect!" Mike tapped his chin, excited to see how this would end.

"Would you have rather had it be husband? Scratch that, would you rather have had it be wife?" Jeremy sputtered on his words, feeling his face set on fire.

"N-no! Of c-course not Mike! Even if I wouldn't be your wife!" Mike smirked, turning around to stare at Jeremy and shorten the distance between them.

"What! How bad of a husband could I possibly be?" Jeremy tugged away from Mike, tightening one of the bandages in the process. Mike hissed and Jeremy smiled, feeling good for getting Mike back for once. The two sat in silence once again, Jeremy humming quietly and Mike remembering he still owed Jeremy a day out. The brunette began to pack up the supplies, Mike moving his joints around to loosen them up.

"Hey Jere, how about I take you out tomorrow instead? It's pretty late and I can tell you want to get some sleep." In response the teen yawned and nodded slightly, drowsiness starting to plague him. The two guards went and got changed into lounge clothes, both deciding to settle on the couch for a bit. It ended how it normally did; Jeremy falling asleep and falling onto Mike's lap, Mike having to move him a bit so he wouldn't wake up uncomfortable and the icy-eyed guard mumbling about how Jeremy was a dweeb. The two fell asleep that night, Mike's fingers tangled in Jeremy's hair and Jeremy snuggled into Mike's chest.
