Chapter Five:
"You're going to help me. Or God save you, I will rip off your fücking head."
Such threatening words sent a tide of shivers down my spinal cord to my buckled knees and my mouth began to dry up from the lack of moisturising saliva being produced.
The figure tilted their head to the side. "I'm going to take your silence as a no." I gulped loudly when I realised who was standing before me. The small amount of light from the window above was enough to catch a glimpse of the figures facial features.
"Wait! Y-you're the g-girl from before," I stuttered embarrassingly after she tightened the grip she had around my throat.
The animal inside me was slashing at the thin boundary holding back the transformation. It was willingly ready to pounce out and kill the girl for threatening us and trying to overpower us. The emotions I and the animal had swimming around in my head began to make me feel dizzy and slightly sick to the stomach.
She let out a scoff, "Not that it's any of your concern. You're apart of this disgusting group, I know it!" She stated accusingly, "I am three seconds away from disconnecting your head from your neck."
I couldn't push myself to pronounce any words so I numbly nodded. No matter how much I wanted to scream, cry and attack her at all the same time, I stayed still and like a coward, let her control me. "I'll help you..." I croaked in the softest voice I could master. It was capable enough to hide my evident fear.
"Wise choice," she spat. In seconds she yanked me forward and moved her hand to the back of my neck where she applied just enough pressure for me to wince. Her grip remained on the back of my neck when she began to shove me forward, closer to the burn infested body.
I don't think she took into consideration that I was uncomfortable and kept pulling up the loose towel to cover my naked body. It wasn't clear to me how we were going to save the helpless man because I for one, couldn't outstretch my arms further enough to hold anything without risking the towel dropping down to a pile at my feet; something I was not going to let happen anytime soon.
"What do we do?" She growled.
I was silent. She is asking me...what to do? "I-I don't know..?" I spoke shakily. My words were more like a question rather then an answer and by the way I felt none other than her heated breath slithering down my neck heavily, it wasn't the answer she was expecting to hear.
Like a child throwing a tantrum, she stomped her way around me and met my eyes. I gasped after noticing her eyes were glowing a fluorescent electric blue. She owned such beautiful orbs considering they stood out as they shone a bright light and flecked with every shade of blue within the darkness surrounding them. They looked completely void as if she appeared to be staring into space--lost in thought, or stupefied.
"People are coming." Her eyes frantically darted side to side after regaining their natural colour and density. At her words, my palms begin to sweat and I grew increasingly nervous.
"If they see him, they will take him away." I murmured.
She grabbed ahold of my left arm and forced me forward with such inhuman strength, my body couldn't force to recon with. The two of us halted to a stop at the edge of the liquids path. "You grab his head, I'll grab his feet." She barked orders at me. The tone in her voice scared me and caused me to leap over to where the young mans head rest.
When my feet made contact with the silver mist I hissed in pain. I hadn't been standing on the liquid for no longer then 10 seconds and my eyes were already watering up. I looked over to the girl and saw she was in the same pain as I was, although she was better at masking it then me, which in my eyes, made me look like a baby.
