*Two Months Later*

"It's our last day!" Victoria screams once she walks up to me, causing me to wince slightly.

"Here you go again. It's 7:30 in the fucking morning." I grumble tiredly.

"Someone woke up with an attitude." She says, rolling her eyes slightly. I sigh, closing my locker.

"Sorry. I just want this day to be over with so that I can get the fuck out of here." I say, and we start walking towards our classes.

"Are you sure this is what you want to do?" She asks and I look over at her, my brow raised.

"Of course this is what I want to do." I say and look back in front of me, taking in the faces that I'll be seeing for the last time at 6:30 tonight.

"Well you never know. You might have changed your mine." She says and I look over at her.

"I haven't changed my mind about anything. I want as far from this place as I can get." I say and I hear a slight gasp, making me look at where the noise came from. I'm met with Billie, standing behind us with a stack of papers in her hands. She's looking at me, her face set in shock.

"You're leaving after graduation?" She asks quietly and I swallow slightly. This is the first time we've spoken in a few months.

"Yes." I say cautiously and watch her face fall in sadness.

"Right. I don't know why I expected you to stay here after you graduate. I mean you have nothing here besides Victoria and it sounds like she's going with you." She rants slightly with a shrug of her shoulders.

"Anyways, I've got a class to get to." She says and quickly walk towards her classroom.

"And that's why I was making sure you still wanted to leave." She says, taking in my state. My shoulders have slumped and I'm suddenly quiet and at a loss for words. She doesn't want me to leave?

"Please don't tell me you're having second thoughts now." Victoria says strictly and I swallow harshly looking back at her, shaking my head.

"No. We're leaving. I'm not changing my mind." I say and we continue to walk to our class. We have a meanigless conversation up until we part to get to our classes.

"Well today is going to be boring for all of you since it's the last day of school. Feel free to do whatever you want and since this is the last time I'll be seeing any of you one on one, I hope you accomplish everything you dream of for your life." Our teacher says with a hopeful smile.

All of my other classes are the same way, just me scrolling through TikTok or sleeping. By the time 12:30 rolls around, I meet Victoria outside of the school since she wanted to hang out and get ready before the ceremony tonight.

"Well that was one of the most boring days I've had in my life." She says with a roll of her eyes when she walks up to me.

"Same. Now we should go have a celebratory drink." I say with a smirk and we start walking towards my car.

"Dakota." I hear my name being called softly. I know that voice. I slowly turn my head and look at her. Her arms are crossed over her chest and she has a sad look in her eyes.

"Can we talk?" She asks and I nod slightly. I turn to Victoria and she is giving me a disapproving look.

"Take my keys. I'll be there soon." I say and she rolls her eyes, walking to my car. I walk over to Billie and stand a few feet away from her.

"I'm going to be selfish right now and tell you that I don't want you to leave." She says, looking me right in the eyes.

"I don't know what you want me to do Billie. Like you said before, I have nothing keeping me here." I say with a shrug and I watch as tears fill her eyes.
