The Secrets

Katherine's P.O.V.:

Earlier, at the moment, she was at the door of the Moonwood mansion for the first time.

I was standing in front of Clara's house while I was thinking about if I should leave or not.
I do not know what drove me, but in the next moment I found myself knocking at the door.
An old man, about 50 years old, was opening the door. After what Clara told me, that must have been her father. Mr Giulio Moonwood. She said he was the only man in the house.

"What can I do for you?" he asked.
I smelled the alcohol on his clothes. He must have been drinking again, I could see it in his face too.
"Hello, I am Clara's friend, she forgot something at my house", I said.
He looked very confused when he said;
"Clara does not have friends!"
"Does she?" I said and smirked.
"Well then who saved her life yesterday?"
I continued.
He was about to close the door because he thought I fooled him. But he had not the slightest idea about what I am capable of.
So before he could close the door, I stopped him. Of course, I could not get in without an invitation but gladly Mr Moonwood wasn't taking vervain. So, after he looked at me with a strict face, I smirked and then I compelled him.
So when he finally let me in, Clara came downstairs. Thus I introduced myself to them. I knew Clara was waiting for me too. She was mostly talking about herself and still did not know my name.
"Please, call me Katherine" were the words I used.
So when I said it, Clara's face turned even happier than it already was. I did not know what this was about but I loved her smile. I could not stop looking at her and neither did she.
When Mr Moonwood asked me to stay overnight, I wasn't sure if I should accept it or not. But Clara looked at me so hopefully and I could not resist that look. So I accepted the invitation and Clara and I went upstairs to her room.

"What a lovely room" was what I said as soon I came in, while looking around.
"How did you do that?" she asked me.
"What do you mean?"
...

"Well whatever you did, thank you."
I had to be careful about what I was going to say and how! Because no one was allowed to find out that I am a vampire!
Clara could not stop talking and asking about her father and the longer she talked, the more I looked at her for a while, I started to get hungry. My eyes went from her face to her neck and I couldn't stop looking at her beautiful neck. Ready for me to bite it. So I had to distract myself from looking at her and I could not do that while she's doing a monologue.
"Now let's stop talking about your father and let's have a little fun here" I was saying.
After she asked me what I meant with that I told her we could sneak around for a bit. She first denied it but then I could win her over of course!
From that moment on I knew she would do anything for me!
After we almost got caught, we went back into her room before we could even reach her father's office, and we went straight into our beds.
I was wondering what Mr. Moonwood was hiding in there, what his secrets might be.
We had a little talk about rules afterwards and that I do not follow any rules on this world.
She thought it was funny and that I was joking but I was absolutely not!
As soon as Clara fell asleep I heard her heartbeat slowly beating, this was beautiful. But then the hunger began again. So I sneaked out of her room to find myself a maid to feed on.
But while I was in the kitchen feeding on her, Sunny came in and saw me!
Sunny was shocked at first.
"Is this real? Can you turn me?" was what she said instead and I was but surprised because I thought she would start to scream by now.
After that I told her she has to think about it for some time, and not just simply turn! So when I compelled the maid to go away, I told her about vampirism and that she cannot tell anybody, especially Clara! And Sunny accepted it.
After Sunny went away, I got back into Clara's room while she was sleeping I went to bed too.
In the morning, I woke up before her and looked at her smiling. It was so peaceful, like time stopped when I was with her. Until I heard someone throwing stones at the wall and calling my name.
I was shocked and got up slowly to look out of the window. It was Pearl and Anna who were living with me in that cottage!
We traveled together all the time, ever since we met.
"Ms Katherine, please come down here" Anna whispered, so I went to the backyard.
"What's this about?" I asked them.
"What are you doing here?" Pearl replied.
"We were worried since you didn't came back tonight!" Anna said!
"Worry not, I am fine! I just enjoy my time here" I smirked.
"Is this the girl you were talking about? Clara? Does she live here?" Pearl asked.
I nodded and then she continued.
"Be careful, If anyone finds out what or who we are then Klaus won't be far!"
I sighed because she said it like I did not know all of this already.
"Please, I know what I am doing!"
"Why did you stay there with her?" Anna asked.
"Like I said, I am enjoying the time here in Paris! So please, go now before she wakes up" I said while the three of us heard her waking up.
Anna and Pearl left immediately as they heard the sound and I started to pick some flowers for her.
"There you are!" Clara said with a relieved smile.
I just had to grin about it and gave her those flowers!

Two months passed by.
And I spent everyday with her since then. We got closer and closer I never felt that way before like I did with her! It was so different and unusual but it was beautiful. Every single day we did something else and it made me forget the time.

When we spent that one day at the river again. We were laying on the blanket together when I heard a group of men coming by!
I heard them whispering about us and that they saw us for weeks together. They where guessing about what we are doing. And I ignored the most things of it, because that was just how the world worked. I almost laughed about the men guessing around. But then I heard one man guessing about something else.
"I could have sworn saw that face somewhere" was what he said.
The other man began to laugh.
"Perhaps at the whorehouse?" a guy said and they laughed even more. Then someone asked "Which one?" and the other guy described me perfectly.
That's when I got curious and listened more careful.
"Wasn't she in England with Lord Mikaelson? Isn't she the person he is looking all over the world for?" he said. "This must be Katerina Petrova!"

I was shocked at that exactly moment I couldn't even move because I did not know what to do! I looked at Clara and did nothing at first. But when I heard the men whispering around if they should tell anyone that this was me, I had to speed over there and I killed them all at once. It were five men and I ripped out their hearts except for one. I was also hungry so I bit one of them in the neck and fed on him!
I did not think about Clara at that moment nor did I notice her. But when I was done and put the last guy down I realized what she just saw and I stared at her. I walked over to her because I saw that she was worried and scared and I wanted to calm her down. But with every step I took she stepped more away from me so I stopped and that's when she started to run. I tried to get her and speeded right infront of her, when I heard her heavy breath and saw her scared face. I could totally see that she was scared for life.
"I am so sorry, I won't harm you!" I said with a nice voice to calm her down because she of all people did not have to be afraid of me at all! But I think she did not trust me and she ran again. But this time I let her and did not go after Clara so she can calm down and think about it. I was hoping that she would not tell anyone while she is progressing all of this. Then I got to my horse and then I rode back to the cottage.

When I arrived, Pearl and Anna were sitting in the kitchen and wondering what I was doing here already. But I said nothing and went over to my room.
It's been a week and I still haven't heard anything about Clara but that day it knocked on the door and I went fast to get it because I thought it was her. But it was not, it was Sunny instead. She was still asking me if I could turn her! and I sighed.
"You sure you want to do this?"
As Sunny nodded very strong I was about to ask her why she wants this so bad. But she already said that she wants to be free of her family!
So I asked her how Clara has been and I told her everything that has happened. Sunny was shocked and said that Clara did not come out of her room since that day and I got worried about her. But I was also glad that she apparently did not tell anyone.
"If you turn me now, I will make sure that Clara talks to you again!" Sunny said.
I still was not sure about it, but then I told her to walk into the woods with me because Anna and Pearl were not allowed to know this!
When I gave Sunny my arm to let her drink from it and she also did, I broke her neck immediately. I left her body in the woods, hidden. And then I walked into town to fetch the next person I saw for Sunny to feed on her when she wakes up.
So when Sunny woke up and killed that woman she smiled.
"I am finally free" she said and I had to smirk when she said that because I liked confident Vampires.
Then Sunny and I both went back to our houses when Pearl came to me.
"Where were you?" she asked
"Not your business" I answered and walked away about to go in my room.
"Clara was here, she asked for you!" As I stopped walking and I smiled.
"She was?"
"Yes, and then she rode away again because you did not tell her about us and then she was mad about that...do you have to say something?" she was asking.
"No" I just said while I was hoping Clara didn't tell her what happened before.
"Then why was she so concerned?"
I was breathing full of relief, because I knew Clara did not say a thing. An I also did not tell her about those men and led out the fact that they were talking about Klaus Mikaelson. Because if she knew, then Pearl would have wanted to leave immediately and I wanted to take care of Clara at first!
So I went out of the house to my horse Bella and rode to Clara's house to talk to her!
