Welcome back everyone and sorry for the delay. I hope the length of this chapter makes up for the wait. Admittedly this is mostly a filler chapter with the task of assigning the new human based Maximals Autobot partners. Just a little disclosure here, I've not had any medical training so if any of the practices I describe in this chapter are off. It's because I'm making it up as I go. So please, enjoy, and review.
"Now remember." Drift said as he looked over the collective Maximals. "Situational awareness is key to any battle. One must be aware of their surroundings, as well as themselves. When one is attacked one must remember ones capabilities to turn said situation to their advantage."
Looking over the top of the group he pointed behind them. "Wheeljack, will you please help me demonstrate?" Nodding, Wheeljack came to stand before Drift.
Turning back to the group he explained. "Now, we are going to demonstrate a few basic diffusion techniques. These are designed to turn your opponents attacks against them and subdue them without killing them." He turned back to Wheeljack. "Wheeljack, come at me."
Giving a nod, Wheeljack leapt into the air and aimed a kick at Drifts' head. With lightning speed Drift caught Wheeljacks' leg and gave a spin. Using the momentum from his kick, Drift spun a hundred and eighty degrees and released his grip. With a yell Wheeljack went flying across the hangar and smashed into the wall.
Turning back to the Maximals, Drift continued. "Now, most forms of diffusion involve turning an opponents' attack against them. Often times debilitating them non lethally." He finished.
"So basically, alien Aikido?" Sierra asked. She was familiar with some forms of martial arts and the techniques seemed similar.
"They are surprisingly similar." Drift admitted. "I believe that, with proper practice, you all should be competent in it in a few weeks." He spun around and grabbed Wheeljacks' incoming fist. The other Wrecker had been sneaking up on him. "In addition, I will be helping you all with weapons training to hone your skills."
Tightening his grip on his opponents' fist, he swung downward, causing Wheeljack to flip and land flat on his back. "Thank you for the visualization for situational awareness Wheeljack." He said, helping him up. "Now, I will divide you into pairs for practice. One of you will try to punch or kick, the other will redirect the attack."
And so it went, Jack ended up partnered with Allison, which proved to be problematic as she seemed to have some problems controlling her Nucleon discharges. Jack ended up twitching on the ground when he tried to catch her foot.
Depthcharge, who was only reluctantly partaking in this course, partnered with Raf. This was mostly due to them being the only bots with similar heights. Depthcharge had Raf on his back after spinning him around. Unfortunately, he got a little cocky and stood over him. "And that is how to beat a taller oppon-" He was cut off as Raf swung his feet up and drove them into his back, sending him flying.
Raf huffed as he got up. "Lesson learned." He replied, offering a hand to help him up. Depthcharge accepted it with a nod.
Miko had been partnered with Sierra, although this ended up backfiring a little when Miko went to do a kick and Sierra panicked. Mid leap Sierra tossed one of her "seed snares" which quickly grew and wrapped Miko in vines. While she was familiar with martial arts, she'd never been attacked before. "Shit, sorry Miko."
With a brief flash of burgundy, Miko teleported out of the snare. "No problem side salad." She quipped. "Good reaction time, just need to get you used to active combat." She wrinkled her brow a bit, she was still kicking herself for forgetting about her teleporting ability when Airachnid had her.
