i don't write like sylvia plath but perhaps
one day i'll die like her
then my works will always be remembered by my end and not my beginning
if such a poet as her cannot escape this fate, surely i cannot
no one will even bother with my poems until i am well and truly
six feet under because then
it will fascinate them
it will become a fun little game
what pushed them over the edge
what were the clues, the warning signs
perhaps it could've been avoided, they will conclude
then shrug and move on with their day
puzzle already put together
poet already dead and
no one likes an already-solved mystery
