It was a rainy day

It was a rainy day. Sunwoo walked alone down a dark, empty street, his footsteps splashing in the puddles. Today had been one of the worst days of his life, and the thought, "There will be other opportunities, right?" crossed his mind, though he wasn't convinced. Doubts gnawed at him—everyone probably hated him. His dreams felt further away than ever.

His walk home felt endless, and he was already soaked to the bone, having forgotten his umbrella. "Damn it," he muttered, barely louder than the rain. Tears welled in his eyes, but the downpour made sure no one could see them.

When he finally reached his apartment building, he passed through the entrance with a weak smile at the security guard, not caring if it seemed genuine. He pressed the elevator button and waited. The minutes dragged on until, at last, the elevator doors opened, and three girls walked out, giggling. His mood sank even lower.

"Is that Sunwoo? He's just as annoying as I thought," one of the girls whispered as they passed him.

"Great. Not even here am I safe", he thought bitterly. To say he was annoyed was an understatement.

Once in his apartment, Sunwoo shut the door behind him, releasing a long-held sigh. He dropped his bag in the hallway and slowly made his way to the bedroom, longing for the sleep that had eluded him for months. He collapsed onto the bed, memories flooding back.

"I need a distraction, or I'll lose it," he muttered, grabbing his phone. Unlocking it, he saw a new notification—a message from P2 Music. As he read the email, a small smile crept across his face, hope flickering in his heart.

"Maybe not all hope is lost after all."
