It was now three days later and the news was covered with the double murder accusation and Hopeton's name next to it, he was also facing various charges for unlicensed firearms and kidnapping as he had other people held captive in his home.
They also reopened my mom's case and were trying to see if the murders were connected, the only downside to what we did was that it would turn all our lives upside down. We would have to testify against him when the time came and make the motive for the murders all come together. I would have to tell a courtroom how he asked me to murder my lover's mother and everything else.
Amanie's mom would have to testify about how much my mom feared my father and my brothers would also have to testify about him kidnapping me.
We were all just simply hoping that we wouldn't get caught up in all of this and end up hurting each other in the process. I wanted Hopeton to suffer but I didn't want my brothers to go along with him. This final part was going to take a lot of faith and thorough planning.
Nobody could get caught, Damian had his links in the police force but I wanted this to play out in a way where all the things he did would unfold and not just that he killed both mothers of his children. The rapes, the murders, the fraud and even the child trafficking. Eventually everyone would know.
"Mi still feel like we fi involve my people dem inno." Damian questioned.
"How much would it cost us?" I couldn't help but give it a second thought so I muted the audio on the T.V to listen what he had to say.
"Not us, me. It naa mek a dent inna mi pocket. Brit e safer fi everybody including you if we tek e better route pon dis."
I signed, his links could help us but I didn't want to tamper further with a case I was involved in. What if us messing around with it implicates us and then everyone gets fucked.
"Alright, can we trust this person?" I asked hush, Jayda was in the other room and based on how Damian approached me this was something he didn't want her to know he was doing.
"Of course."
I thought to Amanie who went out to grab me snacks and something strong to calm my nerves. Maybe I was doing this for him like Damian was doing it for Jayda.
He didn't have to say it, I knew.
We go to any lengths to protect the ones we love, I just wished I had protected mom sooner but I know her soul will live on and her murder was avenged.
