Always protecting me

Moments later I had already forgotten about the dream. I quickly refilled my cats water and food bowls and turned the radio on for them before heading out.

It didn't take me long to get ready since I normally always go to work in the same clothes I sleep in because yes, I am that lazy to get myself looking decent so I am very thankful I don't have a dress code. I did however fix my bangs as much as I could and tied my hair back into a low messy bun before grabbing a mask to now hide who I am.

I rarely ever stop and get coffee but since I was rudely awaken by someone who kept trying to call me last night I needed it today.

So I quickly enjoyed my iced americano in the little coffee shop before walking to work because it's very annoying to keep having to pull my mask down to sip on my drink. "Why did people have to find out who I am? Maybe it won't matter?"

While I had both hands in my pockets walking to the JYPE building I kept thinking about what would happen if I didn't wear my mask. My thoughts were interrupted when I then suddenly felt someone close behind me. A little too close.

As I went to turn to see who was there I noticed them reaching for my hurt hand. But before they grabbed me someone else had grabbed their arm instead making them stop.

I turned fully around to see Minho, dressed in all black just like me wearing a solid black hat and mask. He was holding this persons arm so intensely.

I saw Minho grip this guys arm so hard his knuckles were turning white making the guy yelp in pain before slinging it away. "Don't ever touch her." I heard Minho say in a low growl making my heart flutter from the sudden overprotectiveness that I found very attractive in him.

At first I didn't recognize who almost grabbed me until I heard them speak. "I told you she's mine." The guy whined out.

It was the same guy from yesterday, my ex, and who I assumed was texting me with an unknown number. The moment I realized who it was I immediately went and stood behind Minho. Allowing his body to shield me.

I clenched his shirt with both of my hands while burying my face into his back. I didn't know what else to do. I just instinctively went to Minho.

"You won't always be around to protect her." I heard the other guy say in a snoodie way.

"Watch me." And with that Minho turned around wrapping one of his arms around my waist, pulling me in close and started walking me towards the JYPE building.

I was so flustered yet so thankful in that moment I couldn't even speak. I kept my gaze on Minho the whole walk there. That was until he met my gaze, making me blush.

I shyly turned away but that only made Minho pull me in closer. I suddenly remembered that he wanted to ask me something so I turned back to face him. We had stopped walking just a couple yards away from the building and he finally released his grip on me.

We both stood there with our hands in our pockets just looking at each other waiting for the other to speak first. Normally I would get so flustered with anyone staring at me but I felt way too comfortable around him. Well, that and I was honestly use to Minho's stare for the most part.

"Thank you." I finally managed to break the silence.

"You don't have to thank me." He said softly.

"Ok well I guess I'll see you inside. I have a busy day ahead with you guy's schedule." I said turning away.

"Wait!" He grabbed ahold of my elbow and pulled me back in front of him, placing his other hand on my waist.

I looked up into his beautiful almond brown eyes and watched him shyly looked away. "Why do I feel like I am having deja vu."

He sighed taking a step back as he rubbed the back of his neck. "누나..." (Noona)

My heart was fluttering and I'm not sure why. "Spit it out errand boy."

Right as he was able to speak Felix and Hyunjin walked up. "Arguing this early in the morning? Must be a new record." Hyunjin snorted. "We almost didn't recognize you two at first from how close you guys are standing."

"From a distance you guys look like a married couple fighting with your matching outfits." Felix chinned in laughing.

I looked back at Minho who seems very flustered with Felix's comment. "Weird.." I thought to myself.

"As we got closer we realized it was just you two getting on each other nerves again, anyways come on 누나, (Noona) you guys can argue another time. We have a busy schedule today." Hyunjin said wrapping his arm over my shoulders. I quickly glanced over at Minho who went from being flustered to looking like he wanted to break Hyunjin's arm off in just a matter of seconds.

I frowned my eyebrows at him trying to think of why he suddenly was giving the death stare when I remembered what Chris said again. "He's jealous. Cute."

I kneeled down out of Hyunjin's arm and quickly untied my shoe. "You guys go first." I shooed my hand at them. "I'll be right behind you." I said as I retied my laces. They both nodded and walked inside.

Once I saw that they were both out of sight I stood back up facing Minho. He was looking down at my shoes.

I placed my fingers under his chin and lifted his head so I could see his eyes. "Hurry and ask what you need to ask." I said in a rather soft tone locking eyes with him.

He took a deep breath in. "누나.. (Noona) it's been a crazy few days and well... after everything that has been going on I realized one thing." He sighed quietly.

I had my hands back in my pockets as I waited for him to continue to talk. He took a step forward cupping my face with my mask still on.

I continued to stare into his eyes as I felt my heart beating against my chest.

"I want nothing more than to protect you. I want to keep you safe. I want you to be by my side all the time. I..."

There was a long pause.

"You what?" I nervously gulped. I could feel butterflies forming in the pit of my stomach.

"누나 (Noona) ... I... I want you." he started to whisper. "Will you be my girlfriend?"
