Ive never camped before. To be honest i am a little scared. Nature isnt so much my thing, i grew up in the city and spent most of my time going out with friends and at home with my family.

I have a boyfriend, Alex. He is sweet and caring with a little sprinkle of sarcasm. I love him so much.
But some of our intrests just dont match. He is a total nature kid. Always out scraping his knees and roaming the woods.
And he thought that it would be a great idea to take me on a camping trip with him.
I m not so sure if i would even survive the night.
I was able to live without my phone, no problem, but there were just no people. Only forest and fields. THAT was the scary part.
I have been sorrounded by people my entire life, i have a big family and four siblings. There are constantly people at our house and even at night i can always hear someone doing something. The neighbour watching tv, people on the streets, my dads snoring.
But as we we were walking from the car to our camping spot i couldnt hear anyone.
Just some distant bird chirping.
No people whatsoever.
Just me and Alex.
It was realaxing in the moment, but how long would that last?

Lost in my thoughts i didnt even notice that Alex had walked ahead. The track we were following formed a kurve right before me and i couldnt see him anymore.
Suddenly the sun seemed to be behind a cloud and the trees swung with the breeze. All I could see was trees. They were so tall.
The little hairs on my neck started to tingle and I started running to get to Alex faster.
I hated it here.
~
We were sitting in the grass before our tent, he set it up in under 30 minutes and I watched his every move. God he was so attraktive.
But still, we were alone in the middle of the woods.
And it was starting to get dark.
I lokked at Alex as he sat there completly realxed and with closed eyes. Hair gently swaying in the summer breeze. Listenig to the sounds of the forest.
Itwas a biutiful scene and i wishded that i had my polaroid camera with me to take a picture.
We met in summer camp two years ago.
He was two grades above me but our classes were thrown together. He was my partner that was supposed to help me because i had fractured my ankle.
We bonded there.
Half a year later i told him that i liked him and after we went on a few dates we got together.
Nothing special but still i love him so much.

He jumped up and looked at me with a big smile on his face.
"Have you ever seen Fireflys?"
Of course not.
"No..? Why are you asking?"
"Guess why I brought you here, in this exact place."
So there was a reason. Could it be?
"Cause' you like camping?"
"Yes that too, but right here in this spot, there are thousands of fireflys in this time of the year. And i know youve never seen them before but always wanted to. So here we are. At firefly forest."
Wow. Ive always wantet to see them.
Maybe this wasnt gonna be too bad.
He took my hand and together we walked a few steps so that we could overlook the clearing.
The sun was now almostover the horizon and tintet it a dark red coluor.
It was an amzing view.
The ckearing was a littke higher up and you could see over some parts of the forest.
We just stood there and watched in awe.
Then suddenly somthing glimmed up in the grass. And then another one.
Little stars started jumping around us.
Alex just smiled at me and i almost started crying because it was so biutiful.
The whole field was now filled woth life and all i could do was stand there with my jaw on the ground.
I didnt even notice how cold it got in the meantime and was surprised when alex but his jacket around my shoulders.
"Ist amazing!"
"Yes it truly is."
The wind started blowing again and i looked up at the trees around us and saw the moon shimmering throu.
The breeze tucked at my hair and i could hear sounds i had never heard before.
Around us lay the unique smell of pinecone and chamomille.
Alex put his arm around my waist and brushed his fingers against my arm.
All my senses were triggerd and still i felt so calm and not overwhelmed at all.
It was compleatly dark now and the only light came from the moon and the fireflys.
As much as i would love to watch them all night, my legs were getting tired and it was really cold even though we had mid summer.
I looked at Alex and he kissed me on the forhead.
"Shall we go then? Our tent is already waiting for us."
We strolled back to the tent, he had to lead me because it was really dark and i wasnt used to the path.
When we found our tent he reached into it and pulled out his flashlight so that we could see what we were doing.
I put on one of his hoodies, it was warm and comfy and smelled just like him.
Then we started rolling out our sleeping bags.
I had brought two blankets so that i wouldnt be cold but alex didnt bring one.
"Arent you cold?"
" mh? No not really. Im used to sleeping out here and my sleeping bag is warm."
If he said so.
I defintly was half frozen so i wrapped myseöf up in my blankets and snuggled deep into my sleeping bag.
Alex did the same right besides me and i looked at him and grinned :" you sure you dont want a blanket?"
He was shivering.
"Maybe i could use one... Or i could just snuggle against you."
He looked at me with his best doe eyes and i opened the zipper.
It didnt take him long to wrap his arms around me.
The last thing i remembered before falling asleep was his steady vreathing and the sounds of the forest.
