We drove about half an hour. When we came out of the centre there were less and less people. And then at last we came to our villa. It stood in a street with some other houses like this. It was really beautiful. The villa had two floors. The outside walls were white. On the first floor there was a glass wall at the back side and everywhere inside the house were French doors. On the left side was a veranda and it let down to the ocean. There also was a big garden. From the garden a small path ran in the direction of a forest which was just a few hundred metres away.

I went to the living room and glanced at the thermometer. It showed thirty six degrees in the shadow. No wonder I felt hot in jeans and a blouse. In the middle of the room was a big piano. I went up to my room. It was rather big. Gil had brought all my clothes here last month. The walls of the room were painted blue, my favourite colour.

A big mirror stood on the left side. A wardrobe was on the right. At the wall stood a light brown couch. On the other side of the room opposite the door was the glass wall. Next to the wardrobe stood my desk and then came a big book shelf with all my books. A CD player was next to the mirror on a commode.

I went to the wardrobe. I liked clothes, well I wasn't like this girls who were standing in front of the mirror the whole day, I just liked to wear "cool" things. I took a yellow strapless top,

orange and pink shorts and heel Sandals. Then I took my sunglasses from the commode. They were brown and had big glasses.

Before I went down I looked at the mirror. I had a pale face, and yellow-brown eyes. My short smooth brown hair fell free, hardly reaching my shoulders. I wasn't very tall, just 1.69 metres. I wore black earrings with blue gemstones.

I took my brown bag and nearly ran down the stairs.

I went too the kitchen and opened the fridge. Besides a piece of meat and a little bit of butter it was empty.

"Am going shopping!" I shouted to Gil who was in his room.

"Don't you wanna eat something first?" he asked coming round the corner.

"And what? May I ask you?" I pointed to the empty fridge. He sighed.

"Okay go. I must pack for the training tomorrow anyway."

"Bye dad."

I was already at the door when he called.

"Um Rose..."

"Yeah?"

"How you're gonna reach the shopping mall? It's in the city centre."

"Am going to take the bus."

"Okay. Bye then."

"Bye."

I went to the bus station. The bus came just a few minutes after me. When the bus came nearer to the city centre it was already full. At last it stopped in front of the shopping centre. It was really big. It was Sunday but the shops were opened every day. I went in. It took me some five minutes to find the grocery store. It was nearly as big as in Boston, maybe even a little bit bigger. So I needed approximately an hour to find everything we needed.

After the shopping I went to the bus again. The only difference was: this time I had three bags more.

When I came home Gil was watching a baseball game on TV. He liked to watch games. No difference which game it was. I mean, it could be a football, a baseball, a rugby or an American football game. He watched all of them.

"Hi dad!"

"Oh hi!" unwillingly he turned away from the TV.

"Must you always watch a game, Gil?"

"I have free time, sweetie. And you know I learn to play when I watch games."

"That's a baseball game dad", I rolled my eyes. We hadn't this discussion for the first time.

In the evening I checked my e-mails. My mom had already sent a message for me:

Sweetie, please write! I am waiting! Miss you soooooo much!!!!!!!! Write as soon as you're at home! Don't let me wait! I'll get crazy! I love you!

Kisses from mom . Greetings from Chris too.

That was typical for my mother. I clicked on the field "Answer":

Mom! Everything's OK. I just was at the shopping centre. OK? No reason for panic. Calm down.

Yours, Rose

When I was ready with the e-mails I took my book and lay down on the bed. I was reading "Twilight" (I was reading it for the third time) for approximately two hours when Gil called:

"I go to bed Rose. Tomorrow I'll leave early. And think about the driving lessons. Maybe you can already arrange something."

"Okay, I'll try with the lessons. Goodnight dad."

"Goodnight Rose!"

Gil was going to buy some training gear, because on Monday (in two days) he would go to the training place with his team. They would stay there for five month or something like that, and for that time I would have the house for myself.

The next day I just hang out on the veranda and swam in the sea. I read books and just chilled out the whole day. Gil came back in the evening and went to bed early. So I had time to prepare for the coming five months.
