I wandered through the halls, Faye by my side. I may have caved in and gone to Starbucks with her before school. "You know where you are going?" Faye Raised her eyebrows. "Yes, I'm fine." This was the 20th time she had asked me. "You lead the way to class then," she laughed. "Fine!" I started walking down the hallway and then up the stairs. "Okay," Faye smiled. I continued down the carpeted hall until I was in class. "Here," I stood tall. "Nicee," Faye nodded happily. As I opened the door, my eyes met with a pair of brown ones. The class was empty, except for Freddy, of course. "I will see you later, Faye," I smiled. Faye leaned to look into the classroom. "Don't have too much fun with Freeman," she teased. "Whatever," I joked as she walked off. She turned around and stuck her tongue out at me. I flipped her off in return. Freddy patted the seat next to him and said, "You can sit here, y/n! It's an empty seat," he grinned. "Thank you." I walked over to the chair, taking a seat next to him. "So, after school, today, I want to hang out," Freddy asked awkwardly. "Yeah, sure, where?" I questioned. "You'll see," he smirked. I rolled my eyes. The door swung open, and other students flowed into the classroom. The teacher followed shortly after. Mrs. Whittle is probably the bitchiest teacher I've ever had. If I did so much as move my mouth, she wouldn't hesitate to give me a detention. Jack leaned over and grabbed a notebook, tearing a piece of small, lined paper out. I watched as he scribbled some words onto the piece of paper. He closed the lid on his pen and slid the paper over to me. "Flight or invisibility," the small note read. I laughed at his random message. "Invisibility; I'm afraid of heights," I wrote. I passed the note back. His face lit up as he opened it. "I would have picked invisibility too," he said, adding a smiley face to the end of his sentence and giving it back to me. "Honestly, it would be so much better. You could sneak everywhere," I replied on the paper. We continued to pass the note back and forth until the small page was filled with ink. Freddy turned his head to face me. His grin was so genuine and caring that it made my heart melt. As we were sharing our intimate moment, the teacher slammed her hands on the desk, causing us to both jump. "Why don't you continue your lovey-dovey behaviour in your own time, not in my class?" Mrs. Whittle hissed. She was about to leave when she spotted the square of paper on our desk. We watched as she reached out and opened the paper. She pulled her glasses out of her pocket and read the note out loud. "Flight or invisibility," Mrs. Whittle read. "What a pair of nerds!" someone yelled. My face went a bright red, and Freddy just looked pissed. Mrs. Whittle then folded the paper, slamming it on the desk. "Detention after school, both of you," Mrs. Whittle shouted. "But we hardly did any..." Freddy was cut off by Mrs. Whittles ear-bleeding voice. "That's final"
