It was raining outside, and etho still had not shown up, where was he? Well, that's exactly what Joel was thinking..

Joel walked over to the window looking outside trying to see through the heavy rain, he didn't think it was safe for etho to be out in this rain when there were red life's around. Sure he had a coat, but that couldn't protect his head from being cut clean off by an ax.

Half an hour had passed and he still wasn't back, Joel took out his communicator sending a message to his partner that read 'hey, where are you? I'm starting to get worried.' He put the communicator away, beginning to pace back and forth.

Eventually a beep sounded from his communicator, he pulled it out reading the message as he sat down placing his head in his hands, the message had said 'With Bdubs, be back soon' Joel frowned thinking too himself.

Why was Etho, his soulbound. Spending more time with Bdubs than he did with him. It wasn't fair. Bdubs took everything from him, it was as if he had etho wrapped around his finger.

Joel hadn't used to mind Bdubs, he was a nice guy Joel had thought, but now even hearing his name annoyed him, he loved etho, he really did. But etho never had time for him anymore, apparently Bdubs just so happened to always need help. It made no sense to Joel.

He heard a knock at the door, Joel thought for a second whether he should open the door or leave Etho out there to teach him a lesson. He had Joel worried sick all the time, he rarely ever responded to his messages anymore.

Joel sighed, opening the door just a crack before uttering in a joking tone "and what do you think you're doing coming home this late! It is way past your curfew"

Etho didn't seem to get the joking tone Joel was using, he replied with an awkward smile that Joel could only make out by the fact his eyes crinkled in the corners, "Oh! I was just helping Bdubs with something."

Joel scoffed, rolling his eyes going over to his bed sitting down on it. They're beds were previously next to each other but since Joel had started to notice etho constantly going over to Bdubs he had separated them.

Etho took off his jacket hanging it up on one of the cost pegs before untying his shoe laces and slipping his boots off neatly placing them next to each other besides the front door
