"aqua?" you called out for him.
"yes?" he appeared from his room.
you shuffled nervously, "do you maybe... want to go on a date today?"
aqua stared at you blankly before stating, "sorry. i don't have time."
"oh," you sounded disappointed.
an awkward pause commenced. aqua spoke up softly, "actually, i guess i can cram in some time for you."
your eyes lit up, "really?"
"yeah."
aqua didn't want you to become distant, he didn't want to let you go. though he didn't love you, he did care for your feelings at least.
a part of you knew that aqua didn't really love you, but you stayed with him nonetheless. you love him. that's all that matters... right?

"aaah, this is nice," you exclaimed as you walked around the park.
"mhm," he said with his usual blank expression.
you frowned slightly at his tone. you then grabbed his arm, "aquaaa... pay attention to me."
"i am paying attention," he bluntly stated.
you pout, puffing your cheeks up.
he wraps an arm around you. "this good enough for you?" he questions with an indifferent expression.
you blush lightly.
"...i'll take that as a yes then."
you continued to walk with aqua. you suddenly asked something that caught aqua off guard, "do you love me, aqua?"
he was quiet for a moment. "of course i love you," he lied through his teeth.
your lower lip trembled as you stopped walking. "then... why don't you ever show it?" you were trying not to cry.
aqua stood behind you, feeling pity for you now. he sighed when he saw tears falling from your eyes. he wiped your tears with a blank expression.
"i should've said this earlier but..." he started. "i really do care for you."
your eyes widened slightly.
"i'm sorry that i didn't show much affection," he said in a soft tone, caressing your cheek. "i promise to do better, y/n. i love you."
he lied. he lied all the time and you knew that. but you couldn't help but melt at his words and touch.
suddenly he leaned in and kissed you. tears were still streaming down your cheeks as you kissed him back. the kiss lasted for a few seconds before he pulled away. his blank expression was still there.
"i love you, y/n," he lied again.
and oh how you loved those lies.
