Regulus pov

We step into the great hall, which now feels more like the grand hall. There are hanging lanterns, artfully set up tables, and for once, there is no tables.

Something about all the fanciness is almost awkward.

"You know, there's actually this book I've been meaning to tell you about," I start.

She turns to look at me. "Oh really?" She asks, a playful glint in her eyes.

"Really. You see, something rather interesting happens to the main character." This draws her attention.

She leans towards me, eyes slightly wider than usual. "What happens?" She whispers as if asking for a secret.

"Well," I pause for dramatic effect. "He yeed his last haw."

She rolls her eyes at me, reaching over to shove my shoulder. She tries to turn away before I see, but fails.

I see her laughing. At my joke. I knew I was funny.

"I can see you laughing ya know," I tease.

"You can't see something that isn't happening Regulus."

Ahh, I see how it is.

I hear a loud laugh and look across the room. It's Evan, of course it's Evan. Wait, it's Evan.

I grab Y/n's hand, "C'mon, I want you to meet my friends."

She shakes her head in confusion. "But I've already met Pandora."

"Um excuse you, Pandora isn't my only friend."

She giggles, tugging on my arm. "I know. Now come on, I want to meet your friends."

I shake my head, laughing. I lead her across the room, weaving through clumps of people.

I can make out their faces now, and Avery's brought his date over.

"Hey hey hey." I walk up to them, waving with my free hand before turning to Avery's date. "Bon après-midi." I hold out my hand for him to shake. "I'm Regulus, Avery's friend. I presume you're Ambrose?"

He takes my hand with a grin. "Yeah I'm Ambrose, nice you meet you Regulus."

"Y'know, he talked about you a lot today." I lean in as though I'm telling him a secret. "You should also know that he usually has an attitude. Just a little warning."

"Oi!" Avery hollers.

Evan laughs, leaning against Barty to support himself. Barty glares at him, but wraps an arm around his shoulders.

"Oh hey Y/n," Pandora says, peeking out from behind Avery.

Y/n waves, smiling as all the boys heads snap towards her.

"Why didn't you tell us she was with you?" Evan exclaims, shoving Avery to get to her first.

"Where else would she be? She's literally my date."

He ignores me, instead introducing himself and the others to Y/n.

"I'm Evan. The mean looking one behind me is Barty and the one who's obviously gay is Avery. Oh and the guy next to him, that's his date, Ambrose," He says, barely pausing.

She waves once again.

"Hey there they are," someone shouts.

I don't have time to turn around before someone runs into my back.

I sigh, "really Sirius?"

"Hello dear brother and... dear brothers friends."

He moves, flinging an arm over my shoulder. "Figured it was about time I met your mates. Speaking of mates, why are mine taking so long?"
