We're all gathered in the great hall, waiting to hear some announcement. It better be important, I don't wake up this early for nothing.

I watch as Evan flirts with Barty. Wow they're both idiots. Its like they're blind.

"Y'know, you're better at potions than me. You should help me study, we'll make it a study date, " Evan hints.

"Sure."

"Oh would you two just get together already. Do you know how hard it is watching you two flirt all the time?" I snap.

They both blush, but Avery laughs. "That's funny, I think the same thing about you and Y/n."

I shove him and he bumps into a guy standing next to him. He frantically apologizes, but the guy only grins. Hmmm, it's s only fair that Avery should get his own love story.

I step closer as the boy turns back around. "So, he's cute."

Avery flushes, "I suppose so."

I grin. "You should talk to him again."

"What- no. He'll think I'm crazy. He probably already does, thanks to you," he sputters.

I scoff. "He does not think your crazy. I mean you are, but he doesn't know that."

He shakes his head, crossing his arms. See? He only does that when he knows we're right.

I step back, bumping into someone. I whirl around, only to see Y/n.

"Oh hi," I greet.

"Hi Regulus." She grins. "It's a bit early for an announcement, don't you think?"

"Yeah, they're lucky anyone turned up, especially on a Saturday."

She nods in response.  I search my brain for a creative response. I find nothing. The silence begins to feel heavy.

"Hello everyone. You must be wondering why I've gathered you here today, " Dumbledore booms.

A few shouts of agreement are heard from around the room. The heads of the houses hurry to hush the students.

"Well you see, I have a very big announcement. Hogwarts will be celebrating the holidays with a ball. " The room goes silent. "I sense your confusion,  but you have heard correctly. A ball will be held on the 23rd. For now,  you're all dismissed,  with the reminder that today is a hogsmeade weekend. "

The hall becomes deafeningly loud with excited chatter.  I see the Marauders up ahead. James is talking animatedly, with his hands flying about. He's talking about Lily, I suppose. Anyone with half a brain can see that's he's head over heels for her.

On a split second decision, I run up to them. Sirius notices me first.

"Reggie! You're just in time. We can't get James to shut up about Lily. Help us." He grins and James gasps.

"Don't help them. I need advice. I'm going to ask Lily to the ball, and it has to be big. Hmmm perhaps a party?" He exclaims.

I laugh. "I don't know Lily very well, but I think a party is definitely not the way to go. You've gotta do something simpler."

His mouths drops open. I prepare for yelling, but he grins instead. "That's perfect. I've got to start planning." He pulls me into a hug before rushing off.

The others sigh and look at me. I smile sheepishly. Peter shakes his head and walks off towards James's disappearing figure. The other two follow. Sirius is the last to go,  but its Remus who turns around.

"Aren't you coming mate?" He asks. I grin, hurrying to catch up with him.

And that's how I ended up in the marauders dorm. James was quite serious about planning. He's only just decided the date that he's going to ask her. You'd think he was getting married. But of course he already has his wedding planned, with huge centerpieces and everything.

Who knew James Potter would be such a planner. I already feel bad for Lily, and they're not even dating yet. It's quite funny how much he has to chase her, anyone could see that Lily likes him too.

James is finishing a diagram on the massive white board that he pulled out of the closet. I wonder what else he has in there. Probably a bunch of prank supplies and a Lily shrine.

"Alright, here's my plan. Someone other than me hands lily a note asking her to be in the clock tower tonight. Regulus will hand her the note of course, gotta keep her guessing. Sirius and Remus will run down to Hogsmeade to get flowers- Lilies of course. Then Regulus will go to Hogsmeade to get decorations that he deems romantic. And Peter will help me keep people away from the clock tower. Then we'll all decorate the tower together," He finishes, out of breath. "Does everyone understand?"

We all nod. "You should get lily some candy too. I heard she likes Dew Dew Psychodrops," Peter speaks up.

James frowns and we all go silent. This could turn out very badly. Sirius said that one time James got quiet and then wrecked their room. They spent days cleaning it up.

"That," He pauses. "Is a wonderful idea-" he turns to Remus- "add that to your list of jobs. Remus hurries to write it down.

I stand. "I gotta go guys. But I'll be at Hogsmeade extra early on Saturday."

James grins. "Good. Why can't you guys be more dedicated? Take a lesson from Regulus."

They all send me fake glares and I chuckle before waving goodbye. I make my way through Gryffindor tower, being extra nice to the fat lady on the way out. Can't have her mad at me or I'll never get in again.

I run into Barty and Avery on my way back to the dungeons.

"Where have you been man? We've been looking for you?" Evan blurts.

"Oh-uh, I was in Gryffindor tower," I offer.

They stare at me wide eyed. "Gryffindor tower? Why, how? They all hate us."

"Well you see, not all of them hate us. My brother and his friends quite like me. I even helped to plan something for James."

"For James? No way!" Barty shouts. We get a couple glares from passing students. I shrug it off.

"That's so cool. Can we help? Please? I promise we'll be good," Evan pleads.

I glance away before sighing. No one can resist those puppy dog eyes. "Fine, but no funny business."

"Yes," Evan shouts before running off. His excited shouts get quieter as he gets further away.

Barty shoots me a small smile before running off after him.

What did I just agree to. Oh I hope James doesn't get mad. I've learned how he is about those plans.
