Chapter 9- Plans and Tragedy Part 2

Queen Legume made good time and arrived in East City in about an hour. She flew to Capsule Corporation and landed near the front doors of the building. Queen Legume walked in through the main entrance into the lobby. She walked to the reception desk.

The receptionist looked up from her Computer. "Hello, young lady. How may I help you today?" The receptionist warmly said.

Legume smiled before she replied, "Hi. I have a meeting with Dr. Brief. He should be expecting me."

"May I have your name, please?" The receptionist said as she looked at her computer screen.

Legume nodded before she replied, "Yes. I am Queen Legume."

"Oh, of course. Dr. Brief has been expecting you. Please, have a seat and Dr. Brief will be with you shortly." The receptionist warmly said before she picked up her phone.

After a few minutes had passed, an older man with a thick mustache, glasses, and a lab coat walked into the lobby and approached the receptionist. They talked for a few moments before he headed towards where Queen Legume was seated.

The man smiled. "Hi, Queen Legume. I am Dr. Brief. It is a pleasure to meet you." The man warmly smiled as he said.

Queen Legume smiled before she said, "Hi, Dr. Brief. It is a pleasure to meet you as well."

Dr. Brief gestured towards the direction he came from. "Please, follow me to my study so that we can talk somewhere more private." Dr. Brief warmly said.

Queen Legume nodded before she said. "Sure. Please, lead the way."

Queen Legume grabbed her duffel bag as she stood and followed Dr. Brief to his study. He escorted

her in and closed the door behind them. Dr. Brief gestured towards a chair for Queen Legume to sit in. Queen Legume sat down and placed the duffel bag on the floor beside her. Dr. Brief sat down in a chair across from her as he lit a pipe. He puffed on it a few times before he put the match out.

Dr. Brief looked at Queen Legume. "I know that you have traveled a long distance to talk to me. Is there anything that I could get for you?" Dr. Brief was warm as he said.

Queen Legume shook her head before she replied, "No thank you. I appreciate your hospitality."

Dr. Brief smiled. "You're welcome." Dr. Brief leaned forward before he continued. "Now, what can I help you with?" Dr. Brief was courteous as he said.

Queen Legume went on to explain everything that has happened to Dr. Brief. She also went on to explain what she needed his help with. Queen Legume showed him the contents of her duffel bag and what she was offering him to pay for his help. Dr. Brief listened carefully and looked at the jewels and advanced technology that Queen Legume had offered him. She even showed him the deed to the island that she had purchased. Dr. Brief stood up and paced for a few moments as he thought.

Dr. Brief suddenly stopped and looked at Queen Legume. "Your story is really touching and heart moving. I will be more than happy to assist in any way that I possibly can." Dr. Brief warmly said.

Queen Legume was surprised as she asked, "Y-you will?"

Dr. Brief smiled warmly as he nodded. "Yes, I will. We can go over the plans and schematics another day." Dr. Brief was sympathetic as he replied.

Queen Legume smiled as she said, "Thank you so much, and I understand."

Queen Legume went to stand up, but she stopped when Dr. Brief put a hand up. "I was wondering where you were planning to have Kakarot and yourself live while all of this is going on." Dr. Brief was concerned as he said.
