Danganronpa: Second Chance

Prologue Part One: Checkmate

"Fair well, everyone. If the afterlife really does exist, I hope to see you all there someday."

Those words... Those were the last words the Ultimate Chess Master of Hope's Peak Academy, Ruvyzvat, said before Monokuma began his execution... Ruv never wanted to kill anyone, but he was pushed to his limits by his nemesis, the Ultimate Assassin, Scourge the Hedgehog, to kill the Ultimate Painter, Benjamin Fairest... Ruv would never forgive himself for doing such a terrible act... He knew that he deserved all the pain he would get during his execution... These were the consequences of his actions...

His execution began just like how the Ultimate Boxer, Knuckles the Echidna's, did... He was being stared at by everyone else in the Trial Room, and he was grabbed by the neck by the same chain that grabbed Knuckles... Ruv was scared, but he refused to show it... He knew he deserved this... While being pulled away, all he could hear were the devasting screams from the Ultimate God Worshipper and his best friend, Sarvente... He wished he could apologize to here one last time... Or at least hug her and tell her that everything would be okay, and remind her to stay strong, but it was too late now... What's done is done... And now, his fate was being sealed...

Ruv fell into a dark room... Once he was on the ground, the lights turned on, revealing Monokuma, who transformed into a Wizard Monokuma and used his new staff to summon sentient chess pieces... Ruv was confused at first, but then Monokuma teleported the chess pieces over to Ruv, much to the Ultimate Chess Master's confusion... Monokuma then gave a command to attack Ruv, and the chess pieces pounced on him, trapping the Ultimate Chess Master... Monokuma then gave out the command to have the chess pieces strip Ruv down, much to the Ultimate Chess Master's terror... As the chess pieces were about to start stripping Ruv, the Ultimate Chess Master took a deep breath and kicked the black king chess piece, knocking it away... He then grabbed the white king chess piece and threw them away... He was now able to stand up again, so he ran over to the white queen chess piece and knocked them away... Now all that was left was the black queen chess piece, which gave Ruv the perfect opportunity to escape... Or so he thought... As he was trying to run away, the black queen queen piece grabbed him... Monokuma then gave the queen the command to break... Ruv was confused... What was he trying to tell the queen to do... Unfortunately, Ruv was about to find out... The queen grabbed his arm and broke it, causing immense pain for the Ultimate Chess Master... However, Ruv could not give up now... Despite his now broken arm, he started running, as fast and as far away as possible...

Ruv was now running through a dark grassy field, stopping at the ledge of the cliff to catch his breath... He turned his gazed to behind him, only to see the queen behind him, sword in their hand... Ruv needed to escape... He looked down the cliff, seeing a spiky bush down there... Ruv didn't want to jump in there and be covered in thorns... However, it was either that, or being stabbed to death by a queen with a sword... With his decision made, Ruv took a deep breath and jumped, landing in the thorn bush... Not only was his arm broken, but now he was covered in thorns, making the pain worse... The problem only got worse when Ruv found out that he was now stuck in the thorn bush... Great... All of that for nothing... Now what was he supposed to do...? Suddenly, he heard hissing... Ruv looked around, only to see snakes slithering up to him, causing him to start panicking even more than he already was... He was now desperate to escape, but no matter how much he struggled, he couldn't... He was stuck... One of the snakes then jumped at the Ultimate Chess Master and went around his throat like a noose, causing the Ultimate Chess Master to start choking and desperately trying to pry the snake off, but he couldn't...Another one of the snakes slithered up to Ruv's leg and bit him, causing the venom to go through the Ultimate Chess Master's body, weakening him to the point where he started falling to the ground, becoming weaker by the millisecond...

This was the end for him... This was how he was gonna die... Blood loss... broken arm... lack of oxygen... snake venom... It was over for Ruv... there was nothing he could do now...

If only he could have a second chance...
