Aslan's Howe

(Odette's POV)

The wind blows access my face as I ride on the back of the Sphinx. My siblings and Caspian are behind me, and I can't help but feel frustrated with what's happened.

I can't help but blame both Peter and Caspian for all that's happened. I feel that Peter should have known better and not have let his ego get in the way of saving our people. And Caspian, he let revenge guide him into making a bad situation even worse by going rogue in the plan.

It feels as if my thoughts have gone on for hours as we finally land near the Howe. The sun is peeking above the clouds and I can't help but admire the peacefulness and beauty a new day brings.

I drop down from the Sphinx and pet their side while telling them my thanks.

I notice Caspian turn my way but pretend not to notice as he comes closer to me. I turn away from him and head straight to the direction of the Howe, leading everyone.

We come closer to the Howe's entrance and I see a figure make their way out, Lucy. I pick up my pace and hug Lucy when she is within my reach.

"What happened?" Lucy asks as I let her go.

"Ask him." Peter says as he passes us, making his way into the shelter.

"Peter." I interrupt.

But it is all for nothing as Caspian speaks above me.

"Me?" Caspian's vice lowers as he regards Peter, " You could've called it off. There was time."

Peter turns to him at the bottom of the steps.

"No, there wasn't, thanks to you." Peter's hand rests on his sword in a somewhat threatening way.

"If you had kept to the plan, those soldiers might have lived."

"And if you would have stayed here like I suggested, they definitely would be!" Caspian yells out.

"You called us, remember?" Peter yells back.

"My first mistake." Caspian snidely comments.

I look at Caspian in hurt, but he would not look at me, as he was too busy seizing Peter.

"No." Peter tells him, "Your first mistake was thinking you could lead these people."

Peter tries to walk into the thresh hold but is stopped as Caspian yells out.

Peter turns to him, I finally notice the tears that rim his eyes.

"I am not the one who abandoned Narnia." Caspian says resentment present in the tone.

"You invaded Narnia." Peter points at him, coming closer to Caspian.

"You have no more right to lead it than Miraz does."
