Harry, Ron, and Hermione had gone to the carriages. The way every non-first-year traveled to the castle. Olive went with the other first-years.

'Firs' years here, firs' years!' Hagrid the gamekeeper called.

While walking to the boats they would cross the Black Lake,  Olive bumped into a red-haired girl.

'Oh! I'm sorry! I didn't see you there.' she apologized.

'No problem.' Olive said. They continued walking towards the lake.

'I'm Ginny Weasley.' She said.

'Olive Wood.' Olive replied.

'Olive Wood? Can I see your scar?' She asked.

'You sound a lot like your brother when you say that.' Oliver said. 'But sure.' She pulled up a few strands of hair away to show her scar again. Ginny gaped at it.

''You know my brother?' She asked. Olive nodded.

"I met him and his friends on the train.' She continued.

'Hermione Granger and Harry Potter, right?' Ginny asked her.

'Yeah, they're nice.' Olive said nodding. They were now at the lake and getting into a boat.

'It's amazing, isn't it? Finally going to Hogwarts.' she continued looking around the lake.

'It is. I'm the only girl after my mother in our family to come to Hogwarts.' Ginny said.

'Really?' Olive asked.

'Yeah.'

'I'm the only girl in my entire family to come to Hogwarts. All the ladies went to Beauxbatons.' Olive said.

'That must be even harder than being the only girl child in your family.' Ginny laughed. Olive chuckled.

'It is.'

'Woah.' Said the boy in the boat next to them. Olive looked forward and her mouth dropped.

'Hogwarts Castle.' She whispered.

'It's even better than I imagined.' Ginny said. The pair of them were staring at the castle until they felt a thud.

'Oh. We're here.' Olive said. They jumped off of the boat and began walking towards the castle.

After entering through the gates, Professor McGonagall was there to lead them to the Great Hall for Sorting.

'Welcome, first-years, to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I'm Professor McGonagall, Deputy Headmistress, Head of Gryffindor House, and Transfiguration teacher. Follow me, to the Great Hall where the Sorting will take place.' The plump old lady said. She wore a witch's cap, and long, green robes.

Olive and Ginny looked at each other and followed McGonagall with the rest of the first-years. After entering the Lower West of the castle, Professor McGonagall led them to a pair of huge wooden doors. Olive suspected it was the Great Hall.

McGonagall turned to them and pushed the doors open.

'Bloody Hell.' Olive whispered. The Great Hall was lined with floating candles and millions of students were sitting at the house tables.

She spotted Ron, Harry, and Hermione sitting nearby, at the Gryffindor table. Hermione smiled and waved at her. Olive smiled back.

They soon arrived in front of the staff table and waited for Professor McGonagall to speak. While waiting, Olive's attention was turned to a dirty, frail, old hat sitting on a chair.
