Olive woke with a start. It was Christmas Day!! She ran down to the Common room and foun Harry and Ron there opening presents.

'Merry Christmas, Olive!' Ron said cheerily. Olive chuckled. 'Merry Christmas, Ron.' She climbed down the stairs and started over to another pile of presents. There was a small maroon box with her initials on it.

'Merry Christmas!' Hermione said from the stairs.

'Merry Christmas, Hermione.' Harry said. Hermione clambered down the stairs and gave Olive quick hug. Olive returned it and went back to the maroon box.

She opened it slowly, and inside was a maroon sweater with a big 'O' on it.

After opening the rest of their gifts, (A sweater from Mrs. Weasley, a diary from Hermione, perfume from Harry and three boxes of Bertie Bott's Every flavoured beans from Ron) Olive and Hermione decided that they should head down to meet the other students staying over. They found Fiona Matts a third year Hufflepuff in the Great Hall and sat down to talk with her.

After spending thirty minutes with Matts, Hermione and Olive headed to the library to grab some books on magical creatures. Then headed back to the common room. When they snuck in through the portrait hole, Ron and Harry were busy trying to found out what that terrifying monster they saw was.

'It can't be a Grindylow,'  Harry said. 'they're water demons.'

'What're you two doing?' Olive asked.

'Trying to find out what the bloody hell that creature was.' Ron said.

'Well good for you.' Hermione said slamming the books on the coffee table. Harry and Ron looked up at her with a look of shock and disbelief. But with a bit of experience.

'What's all this?' Harry asked.

'Books on dangerous and magical creatures in the country.' Olive said.  Harry took a look and one of the books and picked it up.

Creatures that can potentially kill you and that are perfect for guarding treasures.

Harry looked at her with disbelief and shock all over his face. 'Do you really think that these can help?' Harry asked Olive. She mouthed a 'no' but didn't want Hermione to hear her.

Hermione opened the book on page 178 and it headed, Three headed cats.

'Huh. They're exactly like Fluffy.' Ron said. 'Which means we won't need to worry about him.' Hermione said. Just then, professor McGonagall came in.

'Potter, Wood, Granger and Weasley. Come to the Great Hall. The Christmas feast is about to begin.' Then she left.

'We better get going. Don't want to miss the Pumpkin Pastilles.' Ron said.

Everyone laughed and they all clambered down the stairs to the Great Hall. There weren't many people except Susan Bones, Fiona Matts and themselves.

'Looks like everyone get to spend Christmas with their families.' Harry said eyeing the hall. Olive sighed.

Dumbledore was standing at the staff table and smiled gently at Harry and Olive. All the other professors.[ were there as well.

They spent the rest of the feats talking with the Hufflepuffs and laughing about jokes made by Dumbledore. At twelve pm it was that everyone when to bed.

'Merry Christmas, boys.' Hermione said. Then they both went up to their dormitories and fel, asleep on the nick of time.

And they were ready for whatever was going to come for them. Whenever it did.
