Today was the day Dumbledore would finally announce that Harry and Olive were the new captains of the Gryffindor Quidditch team!
'Gah! I'm so excited!' Flora screamed.
'Why?' Olive asked calmly. Although she acted cool on the outside, she was jumping up and down on the inside.
'Oh come on, Olive. Your brother was the Captain of the Gryffindor Team last year! How can you not be excited?' Jessica asked. Olive didn't reply.
Madam Hooch and Dumbledore told her and Harry, that they were not supposed to tell anyone what happened. Speaking of Harry, who knew they were best friends as little kids? Maybe Harry already told Ginny, Hermione, and Ron about it.
The girls were just coming back from Transfiguration where they learned how to turn a caldron into a rabbit. At leash, that's what happened for dear old Kiara Muller. Her cauldron turned into a rabbit when they were supposed to turn it into a cat!
She was a second-year, muggle-born Hufflepuff- who according to Flora and Dean, Neville Longbottom fancied.
But Olive didn't know that was the topic going on. Until she snapped back to reality.
'Hey, Olive do you think Neville and Kiara would make a good couple?' Flora asked.
'Of course they would. They both love Herbology, are super duper awkward, and can't even set a cauldron up right!' Jessica said before Olive could reply.
'I was asking Olive not you.' Flora shot. 'So?'
'I think Jessica's right. They are similar.'
'Just like you and Potter, huh? Childhood best friend and neighbors...' Jessica teased. Olive's eyes shot open.
The only peers or people that know about this are probably, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny...
'Ginevra Weasley!' Olive yelled running after Ginny, her bag swinging madly after her. Her best friend told them something they shouldn't know!
On their way, they bumped into Harry, Ron, and Hermione who were making their way to lunch.
'What the?' Ron started but was bumped by his sister and was sent spinning round and round and almost hit the ground when Hermione caught him.
'Thanks.' He said as she smiled and propped him back up his legs.
'Olive, why're you chasing Ginny?' He asked.
'SHE TOLD FLORA, AND JESSICA THAT WE'RE BEST FRIENDS FROM CHILDHOOD!' Olive barked loudly and continued running to catch Ginny.
'You guys are childhood best friends?' Hermione asked. Harry rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. Seems like he didn't tell them.
'M-maybe?' Hermione and Ron smirked at each other.
'But we only found out yesterday! I swear! She told me where she lives and I live right opposite her house!' Harry said.
'Sure you did, mate. Sure you did.' Ron said hitting his back super hard on Harry, making him stumble a bit.
Hermione giggled and followed them to the Great Hall.
With Olive and Ginny, however, it was a different story until Olive saw something strange in the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom.
'Huh?' Olive murmured. Ginny must've noticed she stopped because she came up behind her.
'What? What happened? Oh my...'
Professor Maxwell was rummaging through files and feverishly flipping the pages of one that had
'TARGETS.' in big bold letters.
'Targets? What does that mean?' Ginny whispered.
'Shh!'
'Okay.'
They stared at him through the gap in the door and what they saw made their stomachs churn.
Olive and Harry's pictures were on those papers, along with Hermione, Ginny, and Ron's!
The girls glanced at each other then shot up and ran to the Great Hall. Once there, they began searching for Harry, Ron, and Hermione the same way Maxwell had done.
'There!' Ginny said. She pointed it where Harry and Ron were enjoying a ham sandwich each and Hermione was engulfed in her Charms textbook.
'You won't believe what happened!' Ginny yelled popping up behind Harry and Ron. She startled them and they choked on their sandwiches.
But Ginny didn't care one bit. She went on and on about the previous events while Olive was busy trying to save the lives of her best friend's brother and her childhood best friend at the same time. Thankfully, Harry spat out his sandwich and Ron swallowed his.
''While Olive was chasing me down the hallways, we saw Professor Maxwell feverishly searching for something in his office. Then he pulled out a file that said "TARGETS" in big bold letters and each of our faces was on it!'' Ginny said.
'All of us?'' Hermione asked. Olive nodded.
'Weird. Normally it's Harry whose face is plastered over everything.' Ron said. Harry glared at him.
'What? It's the truth.'
'Well, we know all about the rumors going on about him. So the question is, why were our faces on that paper?' Olive said.
'And why they were in a file labeled "TARGETS".' Harry added.
'And why Professor Maxwell has it.' Hermione added.
'Right.' Olive said. She sat down and just as soon as she did so, a loud 'clink' was heard. Dumbledore was hitting his glass! That meant he had an important announcement to make!
And it 100% was regarding the Gryffindor Quidditch Team.
The noise had now died down and Dumbledore began.
'Thank you, dear students. As you all know the Gryffindor Quidditch Team is one player short and they do not have a captain or a deputy captain. For those of you who don't know what a Deputy Captain is they are like an assistant for the Captain. The Professors and I have chosen two people to fill in the posts. One is already on the team, and another is fresh. Now please welcome the former Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, Oliver Wood!'
Oliver stepped forward waving to everyone as they were clapping for him.
'Did you know he was coming?' Ron asked Olive.
'No. No, I did not.' Olive replied.
'The people we have selected are very experienced in Quidditch and are extremely talented. There is a rule here at Hogwarts that the Captain cannot be in any post other than Keeper, and Chaser. And the person we chose was neither. So, Madam Hooch decided to exchange that student with a first-year.' Oliver said when the noise died down.
'Now without further ado, The new Captains of the Gryffindor Quidditch team are... HARRY POTTER AND OLIVE WOOD!'
The entire Great Hall burst into cheers until Oliver spoke again.
'Harry here is the new Keeper, and Olive- my younger sister is the new Seeker.' Oliver said beaming with pride when he mentioned Olive.
The rest of the Lunch break went well and Olive found out Oliver was staying until the first game. She waved goodbye to him after talking and promised she would see him again.
Now she was the Deputy Captain until her fifth-year.
