Love Is Worth Waiting For

Chapter 11

I woke up at 6 am lying next to someone. I swear I fell asleep alone. I roll onto my side. Matt was lying next to me fast asleep. He looked so peaceful. I've never seen him like this. He's always loud and always making jokes. I felt myself smile. It's nice to see he has a soft side. I never realised how cute he was when he was asleep. I smile. I noticed him roll over so he was now facing me. "Good morning Matt," I say. "Good morning," he says in a deep tone. Damn, his morning voice was fit as fuck. I smile. "It's too early" he says lying on top of me. I felt my body freeze in place for a moment. "I don't think this is okay," I say. "Oh are you uncomfortable?" he asks. "No, it's the fact you're taken," I say. "This is okay I'm just laying on you" he says resting his head on my chest. "Okay," I say. I couldn't help but watch him. He was acting like a little kid. I will not lie it was kind of cute. I smile as I play with his hair. He looks up at me for a moment. I see him smile before he rests his head on my chest again. I kiss his head. I started to play with his hair. I watch as he slowly falls asleep again. I smile. Shit, I'm falling in love with him. I can't do this again. I only just got over Chris. I knew I always had feelings for Matt but I never knew how strong they were. I have liked him for years but not in a loving way. Well, now I know it's love. I always thought I liked him in a bff way. I guess it's stronger than that. I know I don't even have a chance to get with him. So I just need to forget about my feelings for him. Or at least ignore them. I sigh. No matter how hard it will be. I should try to forget. I sigh. I should just enjoy this moment. It may never happen again.

Later.

Matt had been asleep for a few hours and it was now 9 am. I sigh. I soon feel him slowly lift his head. "El" Matt says. "Yeah," I say looking at him. "Do you want to play a game?" he asks. "Like what?" I ask. "Mario cart. Whoever loses has to do whatever the other person wants" he says. "Sure. Get ready to lose" I say. He laughs as he gets up. He turns on my Wii. "I'm gonna win," he says. "No, I'm gonna will win," I say. He hands me a remote and a wheel. "We will see," he says. He sits next to me and gets ready to race me. I look at him. "Best of 5?" I ask. "I was gonna say best of 3 but I'm down for best of 5," he says. "Best of 5 then," I say. We sat there racing each other in silence for what felt like hours. That was until Matt lost 2 rounds. "I HATE THIS GAME" he yells. I look at him and laugh. "There's a chance you could win. There's still one round left," I say. I was so close to winning but at the last second Matt passed me. "FUCK! I lost," I say in a disappointed tone. "Oh dear. I guess you have to do whatever I ask you to do" he says. Oh, I almost forgot about that. "Yeah," I say. "Let me think about it and I'll ask you later," he says. "Okay but I'm going soon" I say. "Then I'll ask you over text," he says. "Okay," I say.

Later.

I had just got home and I was now sitting on my bed. I get up and sit down in my gaming chair. I turn on my computer and log in. I was about to play a game on my computer when Matt texted me. I read the message and reply.

M: Hey

E: Hey

M: I have decided what I want you to do

E: What's that

M: I want you to pretend you're in love with someone in our friend group for a whole day

E: What day?

M: Tomorrow

E: Okay

M: But you have to spend the whole day and night with them. Even if you chose someone who's taken

E: Okay deal

M: You have to flirt with them and make it obvious. You can't just act like you're just trying to hang out with them

E: Okay I'll do it

I sigh as I turn off my phone. I might as well choose him. It will be the easiest since I like him. I hope he doesn't realise I'm not lying. That would be the worst way for him to find out. I soon hear my phone buzz. Matt was FaceTiming me. I answer. "So who are you gonna pretend to like?" he asks. "I'll tell you tomorrow," I say. "Ooh a surprise," he says. "Yeah," I say. I sigh. "Are you okay?" he asks. "I guess what about you?" I ask. "I'm good but are you sure you're okay?" he asks. "Yeah, I'm only," I say. "Okay good," he says. I sigh. "Matt, can I ask you something?" I ask. "Yeah, what's up?" he asks. "You know how you said you liked a girl how did you get over them?" I ask. I hear him sigh. "I haven't. You can't control who you love. Your love just becomes weaker when you fall in love with someone else. Why do you ask?" he asks. "You know I like a guy but he's taken so I wanted to know if there's a way to get over him" I say. "There isn't. If it's true love you can't unlove them" he says. "Oh okay," I say. "Well I have to go I'll talk to you tomorrow," he says. "Okay bye" I say before ending the call. I sigh. I should get some sleep.
