Love Is Worth Waiting For

Chapter 13

I woke up at 2 am. I was lying on top of Matt while he had his arms around my waist. I smile. I guess I had completed my task from him. I had to act like I was in love with someone. I chose him. I wasn't acting though. To be honest it was easy since I like him. I felt Matt move slightly. I look at him. He was still asleep. I carefully get off him. I grab some PJs and make my way to my bathroom. I lock the door and get changed. I look in the mirror trying to fix my hair. I was about to unlock the door when I heard Matt get up. I unlock the door and look around my room. Matt was holding a note in his hand. I looked at the draw he had opened. He was reading the note he had sent me a while ago. Why was he reading it? "Matt, why are you reading that?" I ask. "Oh sorry I just wanted to see if you kept it" he says. "Oh okay," I say. I yawn. "Come here," he says as he puts the not in the draw. I walk over to him. He wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me onto the bed with him. I was now lying on top of him again. I slowly close my eyes.

Later.

I woke up at 11 am. I looked at Matt he was already looking at me. "Good morning," he says in a deep voice. I smile at him but say nothing. Why was his morning voice so attractive? "Do you want me to make you some food?" he asks. I nod. "Okay," he says. I moved so I was no longer lying to him. I watch as he gets up and leaves my room. I quickly get dressed before making my way downstairs. I sit down at the table while Matt makes pancakes. He always made me them.

Later.

I had just finished eating and I was now getting ready to leave Matt's house. I grab my bag and my phone before making my way downstairs. Soon enough Max had arrived. I say bye to Matt before following Max outside.

Later.

I had just got home and I was now sitting in my room watching TV. There wasn't much on so I was just scrolling through the channels. I decided to go on YouTube. I still couldn't find anything. I eventually gave up looking for something to watch and just listened to music. But even that got boring. I sigh. I guess I'll just take a nap. I lay down on my bed and closed my eyes. I kept tossing and turning for a while before I finally got comfortable. But no matter how hard I tried I couldn't sleep. I sigh. I sit up and go on my phone. I decided to watch TikTok. But even that made me bored. I get up and sit in my gaming chair. Maybe a game will cure my boredom. It didn't. Not even Minecraft was fun at the moment. I sigh as I lean back in my chair. I didn't have any inspiration to write a story either. I normally have something to do. But everything seemed to either bore or frustrate me. Nevermind.

Later.

I sigh as I roll onto my back for the 10th time in a few minutes. I was just laying on my bed bored out of my mind. I wished someone would call me. I was too busy thinking about Matt. I needed a distraction. I soon heard Max talking a bit too loudly downstairs. "Oh shit I'm sorry to hear that Matt," Max says. What's going on? "You should tell El. I'll talk to you later" Max says. I sigh as I slowly sit up. I soon heard my phone ring. I grab it and answer the call. "Hey" Matt says sounding like he had been crying. "Hey, what's up?" I ask. "Uhm. Well..." he pauses. I hear him sigh. "Uhm Danielle cheated on me" he says quietly. "Keep your door unlocked," I say before ending the call. I grab my bag and put my phone in it before making my way downstairs. "I'm going Matts for the night. I'll see you tomorrow" I say to Matt before I leave the house.

Later.

I had just got to Matt's house and I was now opening the door. I sigh as I enter before closing the door behind me. I could just hear Matt upstairs. I make my way to his room. He was just sitting on his bed staring at a ring. "Matt I'm here for you" I say. He didn't say anything. he didn't even look at me. He didn't move an inch. he just sat there fiddling with the ring in his hand. I sigh as I sit down next to him. I place my hand on his leg. "Matt do you wanna talk" I ask. He still stays silent and doesn't move. "Okay," I say getting up. I turn to leave but he grabs my hand. "I was gonna ask her to marry me" he says still holding my hand. I sit back down and look at him. He looks at me. I watch as he holds the ring. "I guess I'm just that ugly," he says. I give him an annoyed look. I stand up pulling my hand away from his. "Ugly? You think you're ugly? Are you blind? You're the fittest guy I know. Fuck it. Not gonna lie I would date you" I blurt out. "Take the ring," he says. "Why?" I ask. "I know you will wear it," he says. I sigh. I take the ring and put it on my ring finger on my right hand. I sit down next to him. He places his head against mine. "You know I never liked her," I say. "I know," he says. "I'm here for you," I say. I hear him sigh. "I love you El," he says. "Uhm I love you too Matt," I say. "You should go to your room," he says. "Yeah I should," I say. "Good night," he says. "Good night," I say as I get up and leave his room. I make my way to my room and sit down on my bed. Why did he say that? Why did I say it back? I know I meant it. But why would he say it? I guess I'll never know. I sigh. I should get some sleep.
