Karlie POV

"Hey," I smile, answering my phone after Taylor's name popped up on the screen. It's Monday morning, the first day of school. I only have about 5 minutes until the first bell rings, and I am sitting on my desk chair, waiting.
"Hey, Kar!" Her voice rings through the speakers of my phone, "Are you excited?" She asks, happiness in her tone.
"Yes, I am so excited," I answer, a smile on my face. I can't help but smile whenever anything has to do with her. She has a sort of weird hold on me, something unexplainable, "But I only have about 3 minutes until the first bell," I remind her, trying to find out why she has called.
"I know, I can tell time," she says, sarcasm in her voice, making me roll my eyes, "I just wanted to tell you to have a good day, and that I miss you," she admits her reason for calling, making me smile even more than before. It's been interesting getting to know her, she definitely keeps me on my toes.
We saw each other just the other day at her house, during her meeting, though I found myself confessing that I miss her just a few minutes after leaving. She is almost magnetic, there is a pull that makes me need to be close to her. There is something about her that makes me miss her, makes me want to be around her, or talking with her. It's a feeling I haven't felt with someone else before, and I can't get enough of her.
"Thank you, I miss you too," I say almost shyly. It's weird to admit it, to actually miss someone you saw less than 48 hours ago. Though, I truly do miss her, "I know you are finishing up your songs, so I will wish you good luck,"
"I am finally starting to figure them out, I believe that I just needed to find some sort of inspiration," I can hear the excitement in her voice, and I am so happy for her.
"So, you think you found your inspiration?" I ask, glancing at the clock once more. The bell will be ringing any moment now.
"You do a lot for me, Miss Kloss. Including helping me find inspiration," I can her the smirk in her voice, "I will let you go though, your class is about to start,"
"I will text you when I can," I inform her, "Bye, Taylor," I end the call as the bell begins to ring. The students quickly come piling into my classroom, finding chairs at the computers to sit in. I choose to wait until the tardy bell has rung, before standing up from where I was seated at my desk. I walk around to the front of it, leaning against it slightly.
"Welcome, everyone. How are you feeling about your first day?" I ask, since there seems to be a majority of Freshman in here, and everyone starts mumbling words like 'nervous' 'stressed' or 'worried', "Me too," I laugh, agreeing with them, and most of them laugh along with me.
"For those of you that have yet to be in my class, I am Miss. Kloss," I introduce myself, seeing quite a few new faces, "I teach home room, so this period, as well as coding, which all of you probably will be taking," I smile, everyone looking to me, "You can use this period to catch up on homework, missing work, or what have you. This week we will go over your individual goals for this semester along with the expectations," I inform them, before moving back to sit in my chair at the desk, "We will take attendance first," I logon to my computer and go into my attendance. I begin calling their names, going through the list and marking that everyone is here, "Any questions so far?" I ask, looking around to see a few hands, and I call on one of the boys that I now know as Max.
"How old are you? Are you Noah's mom?" He asks curiously.
"I just turned 30 at the beginning of this month, and yes," I answer him, "Holden?" I ask, pointing to another student.
