Karlie POV

.

"Hey, babe," I smile, answering Taylor's call. It's Tuesday, and I am on my lunch waiting for Drew and Noah to come join me. They have been eating in my classroom with me nearly every day, and I will admit that it's been nice. It's been a few weeks, and I haven't seen Taylor all too much due to how busy she has been with her work, so it's always a pleasure when she calls.

"Hey," I can hear the smile in her voice, "How is your day going?" She asks sweetly, though I know she is currently working and probably busy, it's nice that she called.

"It's good," I shrug, "My family has notified me that they are coming to visit this weekend though," I inform her sadly. Lately I have been getting Taylor for one day during the weekend, and it's frustrating that my family is coming on the day I would have gotten to see her. Noah and Drew have been spending most of their time at my house, just due to her work.

"Are you excited? You haven't seen them for quite some time," she asks genuinely, her voice is still soft and caring.

"Yeah, of course I am excited to see them," I answer. I am, I love my family, and I love whenever I get to see them, but I am extremely disappointed that my plans with the blonde are ruined.

"But?" She asks knowingly.

"But, that means I won't get to see you this weekend," I say, almost feeling kind of selfish.

"You can bring them over for dinner," she suggests, seeming to want to make me feel better.

"Taylor, I am not going to make you host a dinner for my family," I shake my head. My family can be a lot, I am not going to let her spend her one day off making them dinner and entertaining them.

"Babe, that means you would get to see me, and spend time with your family. It's a win-win," she insists, and I know she is not going to let me decline this. When she has her mind set on something, she is extremely stubborn. She will not accept 'no' for an answer.

"You are sure you want to meet them? They can be a lot," I inform her, making sure that this is what she wants.

"Karlie, we are in a relationship. It's inevitable that I am going to meet them. We might as well get it over with," she argues, and I let out a sigh. She is right. Her reasoning is plausible, "How many will I be cooking for?" She questions.

"9? I think?" I answer, counting on my fingers, "Yeah, 9 including you and Drew. They will be here on Saturday," I confirm, counting once more.

"Sounds great," she answers, "So, you will be here Friday night?" She asks, hope laced in her voice.

"Yes, I will be there," I reassure her, "I will text my mom to let her know. I love you," I smile to myself. The words are still kind of new to us, but I love saying them.

"I will talk to you later, I love you," she replies happily before ending our phone call. I pull up my texts between my mother and I. I send her a text informing her that she will in-fact, be meeting Taylor, though I previously told her that it was not going to happen. I don't hide that Taylor was the one who insisted on them coming over for dinner, though.

"Hey, Karlie!" I hear Drew's voice as the door opens.

"Hey, kid! Where's is Noah?" I ask, watching the door fall closed behind her. She sets her food down on my desk before turning to pull up a chair to sit in while she eats.

"She got lunch detention," Drew shrugs nonchalantly, though I roll my eyes. Noah is absolutely losing her phone tonight.

"Do you know what for?" I ask, and the blonde shakes her head, "How's school been today?" I ask, checking my phone for an answer from my mom. She texted me back, she seems excited. She has really been wanting to meet the girl that ruined my streak of being single for so long.
