Chapter 2: Learning New Moves and a Last-Minute Road Trip

So, after telling Koharu's parents, as well as all of the other Pokémon, both at the lab, and the new additions on my current team, things had started to go back to normal... well for the most part. I decided not to tell Goh yet because I'm not sure how he would take the news. But I think he might figure it out on his own before I figured out how to tell him, if the strange looks he gives me is any indication.

"Hay, Ash, you ok over there?" I snapped out of my thoughts at Goh's voice, I took a moment to regain my scrambled thoughts, and once I did, I simply nodded my head.

"Ok... if you say so... but you've been acting a bit strange lately, even Scorbunny has noticed." Goh said and I held back an amused laugh, of course Scorbunny knew what was going on, but Goh didn't. I'm still surprised how none of my other traveling companions had even come close to figuring it out... well their Pokémon did. And so did Dawn, May, Zoey, Serena, Richie, Casey, and Iris all knew as well. And now, so does Koharu. Of corse my mom and Professor Oak know about it, I mean, come on, I was born a girl for StarClan's sake. I have no idea why most people think I'm a boy, but I've given up trying to tell people who just don't listen.

"Hay, Ash? I have a question to ask about Pikachu." Goh said while pointing to said electric mouse who was running around with Scorbunny and the other Pokémon. I nodded for him to continue speaking.

"How many moves does Pikachu know? Just out of curiosity." Goh asked me. I thought back to all of Pikachu's moves, and oh my Arceus there's a lot. "Well let me see, Pikachu know's a lot of moves. Are you ready?" I asked him and he nodded for me to go on.

"Here goes, Pikachu knows: Thunder Shock, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Agility, Quick Attack, Double-Edge, Iron Tail, Electro Ball, Electroweb, and Volt Tackle." I said, listing off all of Pikachu's moves. Goh was wide-eyed and it was hard not to laugh at the shocked look on his face.

"Wow, just wow! That's a lot of moves! Scorbunny only knows Double Kick and Quick Attack. I wonder what other moves Scorbunny can learn?" Goh asked me with a tilt of his head. I pulled out my Pokédex and looked at some moves that Scorbunny could learn. "The Pokédex says that Scorbunny can learn these moves: Growl, Tackle, Ember, Quick Attack, Double Kick, wich Scorbunny already knows, anyways, back on track. Scorbunny can also learn: Flame Charge, Agility, Headbutt, Counter, Bounce, and Double-Edge." I said, reading the list moves that Scorbunny could learn.

"For strong moves that deal a lot of damage, you could teach Scorbunny Ember or Flame Charge. And for an extra speed boost you could also teach Scorbunny Agility if you wanted." I suggested to Goh as we looked at Scorbunny's move-set once more.

"Yeah, let's do some training!" Goh exclaimed and I laughed quietly to myself. This is going to be a lot of fun, I'm just hoping nothing catches on fire. "Ok, let's do it then. Oh, me and Pikachu could help out with Agility and Double-Edge," I told him and Goh nodded his head in in thanks. I'm not sure how this will turn out, but it never hurts to try.

We had been trying to help Scorbunny learn to use Ember, but It wasn't going very well. As we kept trying I could tell that Scorbunny was becoming frustrated, and I understood why, Scorbunny was trying so hard but it just seamed that it wasn't having any luck at all.

"Hi, Goh, hi, Ash, uhhh... what exactly are you two doing?" Me and Goh both turned to see Koharu standing not far away watching us. She looked a bit confused about what exactly we were doing. "We're trying to teach Scorbunny how to use Ember, but as you can see, it's not going very well." I explained, turning my head to look at Scorbunny, who looked exhausted.

"Hay wait, I have an idea." I said as I turned and whispered something into Koharu's ear. She nodded her head in agreement at my suggestion. "Yeah, that could work." She said, smiling and nodded her head while glancing over at Goh. I turned to Goh with a bright smile on my face. "What do you say about taking a trip to Sinnoh?"
