oOo
It had been a few days since Ashly, Goh, and Koharu returned from the trip and everyone was just sitting around. Koharu was in the kitchen with Ashly, talking about 'secret stuff' as Goh called it when they wouldn't let him inside. Dawn and Zoey were having a practice contest battle outside in the backyard while the other Pokémon were running around them.
Koharu sighed and tugged at her braid in frustration. "So... should we tell Goh? Or should we let him figure it out on his own?" Ashly frowned and sighed softly. "I really have no idea what we should do..." she trailed off and started to walk over to the kitchen window, she stared at her reflection in the glass as she pondered on what to do. She really wanted to keep this secret but at the same time... she didn't want Goh to be mad at her when he does find it out, she sighed and tugged at her braid in frustration.
"I think we should tell him eventually..." Ashly muttered quietly while turning away from the window to stare directly into Koharu's green eyes. The maroon-haired girl was quiet for some time before she eventually spoke up, "I agree with you on that, but what will his reaction be when he does find out? I just don't want him to be mad at us for keeping this from him." She started to pace In circles while putting her finger to her chin in thought.
Ashly was about to open her mouth to start saying something, but a knock on the door interrupted her. "Who is it?" She tentatively called out to the person on the other side of the door. "It's Dawn and Zoey," came the response. Ashly nodded and motioned for Koharu to let them enter. "Whatcha girls doing in here?" Dawn asked once she entered the room. The raven-haired girl gave her a raised eyebrow in response to the bluenette's question.
Dawn nodded and rubbed the back of her neck with a hand. "Haha heh! Oh yeah... that thing, right..." she replied with a sheepish smile and a nervous chuckle. Ashly and Koharu both nodded and the maroon-haired girl went and closed the door so they could talk without being overheard. "What I want to know is, how long can this secret last?" Zoey spoke up from her place beside the kitchen counter, her gaze swept over the 3 other girls while she asked the question that was on all of there minds.
Everyone went silent for a short while before Dawn spoke up to break the tension in the air. "Well, I think it would be better to tell him sooner rather than later." She said while watching the Pokémon run around from the window. The others glanced to one another before slowly nodding in agreement. Dawn did have a good point, it would be better to tell Goh now rather than later. And it would lift the heavy burden on all of there shoulders, keeping this secret wasn't easy for any of them, and they couldn't imagine what Go was thinking about there strange behavior and the many lies and excuses that had been told in order to keep the secret safe.
And so, with a knowing glance to one another, the 4 girls exited the kitchen and went to look for Goh. It was time that he knew that Ash, his best friend was actually a girl named Ashly, and that she had kept it to herself for years. It wasn't going to be easy to explain her reasoning for keeping the secret, but she would explain it as best as she could without saying too many details about her past. It took a bit of searching, but they finally found Goh, he was yelling at Raboot, who was compliantly ignoring her trainer. "No surprise there," Zoey whispered under her breath as they stood there awkwardly in the training field, waiting for Goh to notice them.
He finally did notice them, and it was hard not to laugh at the look of absolute relief on his face at any excuse to get away from his partner Pokémon. Ashly couldn't blame him though, Raboot was being a huge pain in the butt, and she didn't seem to want to listen to any person or Pokémon for that matter. "Huh? Oh! I uh... hi, what's up Koharu," he asked with a nervous laugh and a side-ways glair directed toward Raboot, who again turned her head away from him.
"Oh! I uh... there's something that we need to tell you." The maroon-haired girl then glanced at Ashly, who nodded and looked at Goh directly in the eyes. "Well, to tell you the truth, I'm actually a girl, and my name's Ashly."
