Chapter 9: Koharu's Very First Gym Battle in the Unova Region

Here's the next chapter of Ash's Secret, it's a LOT earlier than usual because I got inspired to write another chapter of Ash's Secret when reading the amazing author storyreader21 and there amazing story Ash's Secret. Chapter 9

Koharu's First gym Battle

It had been about a week since Ashly and Raboot's intense battle of pride and skill. The skill of Ashly's grace and skill with combo moves, and Raboot's stubbornness and pride keeping her from giving into defeat.

The group of five humans were now heading to Unova for the second time so Koharu could challenge the Striaton City Gym.

As they walked, Ashly was informing the other girl about how the Striaton City Gym was run by three brothers who were the gym leaders. Ashly also told Koharu that she could choose one of them to battle against, and, that if she was to be victorious, she would receive the Trio Badge.

"So..." Koharu began, sighing and looking over at Ashly. "Who did you pick to battle against when you traveled through Unova?" Ashly laughed and tugged nervously on her bread.

"I actually challenged all three gym leaders," the ravenette admitted with a sheepish smile, her dark hazel eyes gleaming. The maroon-haired girl stopped walking and turned to stare at her friend with wide green eyes.

"Wait, so you're saying that you challenged all three gym leaders?"

Ashly laughed and nodded with an amused smiling forming on her face. "That's what I said, wasn't it?" Koharu laughed as well while giving her friend a smile and a knowing wink.

"Uh... guys? Shouldn't we be getting a move on if we want to catch our plain?"

At Zoey's statement, the other four occupants started freaking out and faster than a lightning bolt, they began racing to airport to get there tickets and find their gate number.

"Latias Air flight to Unova Regional Airport will start boarding in ten minutes, all travelers please report to gate E10."

"Well, at least we know what gate number we need head to." Goh remarked as they kept on running to the airport.

Ashly was out of breath, after the mad dash towards the airplane, and of course, she was in the same seat as last time. Next to Koharu and Dawn. Goh, Zoey, were rig behind them. And Mina was right beside Zoey.

"Wow!" Goh remarked once they had all found their seats on the plain. "We actually made it before the plain took off."

Ashly's shoulders slumped and she reached up to fix her hair, which had come undone during the mad dash to catch the plain before it left the airport.

Seeing her friend struggling to fix her braid, Koharu smiled and offered to help Ashly out. She motioned with a hand for Ashly to turn her head and the ravenette did as she'd instructed.

It didn't take long at all for Koharu to fix Ashly's undone braid. She smiled at her handy work and pulled out a little hand-held meror from her bag and turned it to face Ashly. Ashly smiled bright and gave her friend a tight hug. "Thanks Koharu."

"You're going to do what?!"

Ashly laughed and turned into her male illusion form from her travel through Unova. "I'm going to prank them," she said with an impish grin plastered on her face.

The others all grinned and looked at each other with equal looks of amusement on their faces. "C'mon, let's get this show on the road!" Goh said as the group entered the gym.

Just as Ashly remembered from the last time she was here, the doors opened to reveal a very nice and fancy-looking restaurant.

And yet again, just like the last time, the three gym leaders were in front of them in less than five seconds.

"Hi Ash," the green-haired man said once he had caught sight of Ashly and Pikachu. Ashly smiled and waved in greeting. "Hi Cilan, good to see you again."

"So..." Chili began, "what brings you back here?" Ashly laughed and winked at the fire-type gym leader. "Well you see, my friend Koharu wants to have a gym battle." They all nodded and with a snap or motion of their hands, the restaurant turned into a battlefield.

"Time to meet our Pokémon partners," Chili said while tossing a poke-ball up in the air. "Heat's on!" And in a flash of blue light, the fire-type monkey Pansear appeared.

"Here's the Pokémon I'll be using." Cress said while throughing a poke-ball in the air like Chili had done. "Make a splash." And out of the poke-ball came Panpour, the water monkey Pokémon.

And finally, it was Cilan's turn. He threw a poke-ball and out of the flash of blue light came Pansage, the grass monkey Pokémonx

"Now it's time for you to choose your battling opponent." Cilan told the maroon-haired girl. As she scanned the three Pokémon with her Pokédex, Koharu looked up at Ashly then back to the three gym leader brothers. "Could I battle all three of you by chance?"

Cilan, Chili, and Cress all blinked and looked over at Ashly, no doubt remembering her battle she had had with each of them. "What are you looking at me for?" She asked, rolling her eyes and facepalming. Pikachu started snickering and Koharu tried to stifle her own laughter.

It would seem as if history was repeating itself. And as Koharu sent out Ashly's Oshawatt into battle against Chili's Pansear, there was no question that yes, it was pretty clear that history was in fact repeating itself.
