Frank POV.
"Oh my fucking God!" Frank swore under his breath, a cigarette in hand with his phone pressed against his ear. He paced around anxiously, awaiting the voice on the other side to give him an answer. There he stood, in the middle of his living room, his mother on the couch with a bottle of the shittiest, cheapest vodka she could get her hands on. Her chest barely rising and falling. The smell of booze filled his nose for what felt like the 100th time. It was his 19th birthday and she did this every year. She would get loud and scream at him until her lungs gave out or until he retreated into his shitty falling apart bedroom. Other times he would take a walk when the ambulance and EMT did their jobs. His mother hated his guts.
"They will be there in about 10 minutes, until then, roll her on her side and make sure she doesn't puke-" The other voice began before Frank quickly spoke, cutting her off. "Yeah, I know the drill. Put her on her side and take the vodka away. Wait for EMTS. Thanks." He hung up angerly. He never knew why his mother hated him, or why she would resort to drinking. Quite frankly, he didn't care enough to know why anymore. He gently put her on her side per usual, grabbing the almost empty bottle from her and picked up the ones laying around her. He poured the little sips into one bottle and threw the empties away.
He took a small sip from the bottle, the burning sensation calming him for a moment. Taking a drag, he heard the sirens in the distance. He grabbed his all black backpack that was decked out in many band pins and headed out the door with the bottle in hand. He began walking. then sprinting. then running. He ran like his life depended on it. He was so angry and ashamed of himself for being such a disgraceful son.
Frank ran and ran, in-between he'd chug a little bit at a time of the vodka that was left. Then a lot. He ran until he collided with something, no, someone.
"H-Ow. Oh my god are you okay ,dude?!" The 'someone' spoke as Frank fell to the ground, right on his ass. He groaned in pain and let out a spew of curses as he angrily took another chug from the bottle. "I'm just--d-dandy." He spoke softly, his nose running and eyes filled with tears. The other man helped him up, worry across his face. "I'm Gerard, you are?". Frank finally looked up, his eyes met the others as he quickly rubbed his eyes, smudging his eyeliner even more. "M'Frank. I-I'm sorry for running into you li--ke that." He slurred out softly, afraid this handsome stranger would hate him like everyone else.
Gerard POV.
Gerard was still shocked being rammed into like that by this smaller, obviously angry or upset drunken boy. "Hey hey hey, its okay, Frank. Why don't i bring you to mine? Or walk you home? Its cold and you are in no condition to be by yourself, dude." Gerard spoke softly, his hand rested on the others shoulders to keep him upright. He slowly took the bottle away from the seemingly younger boy as Frank nodded. "My place or yours?" He said as he started to walk with his arm around the younger, holding him steady once more. "Y-Your's... Please? Y-You won't like--kill me or something right?" Frank said in a joking but serious tone. Gerard laughed and shook his head. "No, I promise. Cross my heart, Frank." He spoke softly as he crossed his heart with his free hand. The two walked to Gerard's, mostly stumbling.
When the two arrived, Gerard immediately grabbing water and Tylenol for the other while he brewed coffee. He looked at the bottle he had took from Frank earlier as he poured the little bit that was left into his own cup of coffee. See, Gerard has been down this road before. Running from anger. Drinking to cope because he liked the way it burnt his throat. He shuddered slightly as he took a sip of his freshly brewed black coffee.
He grabbed the other cup and brought it to frank who was stood at the front door still, looking at the art and posters plastered on the walls. "Here, this will help you sober up. There's water and Tylenol on the counter in there. I'm gonna go upstairs and get you some dry clothes, okay? Please, make yourself comfortable." He motioned to the kitchen as he spoke and then made his way upstairs to find something dry and warm. He landed on some red and black plaid pajama pants and an old band tee of his. He changed into his own dry clothes, black sweatpants and a newer band tee of his. He went back downstairs and saw Frank on the couch flipping through movies as he slowly began to sober up.
"Here, these should fit you, you might have to roll the pants up or something but its better then wet clothes." He said as he handed Frank the clothes. He looked frank up and down slowly. He was in black ripped up skinny jeans, a pair of converse, and a hoodie that was suspiciously too big for his size. His face was stained from the eyeliner that ran down his face. He wasn't sure if it was from tears or from the rain that hit on the way back. 'Man, he is so pretty.' he thought to himself before he snapped himself out of his daze.
He sighed when Frank took the clothes shyly and went to the bathroom he was directed towards, closing the door swiftly as he entered. He sat down where Frank was and picked out a cheesy horror film to watch in the meantime. He wondered how old this boy was, he definitely was not old enough to be drinking, but that'd make Gerard a hypocrite. Gerard has been drinking since he was about 17, he was now 26. He tried to stop, but he truly had no reason to.
Franks POV. (again sorry lol)
Frank admired the small house, standing there as Gerard went and made coffee and grabbed things Frank might need later when sober. He stood there awkwardly until Gerard came back out, handing him a cup of coffee and telling him about the water and Tylenol he had left for him. "Thank you." He let out in a small squeak.
He watched the older man walked upstairs to grab dry clothes for them both. he sat on the couch and started to look through Gerard's movies as he sipped his coffee. He hummed contently and admittedly slightly drunkly to himself while he waited. Finally, Gerard emerged again with clean dry clothes. He took them with gratitude and made his way into the bathroom quickly after Gerard stared at him a little to long.
"Why was he looking at me like that? He looked.. sad." he mumbled to himself as he shoved his wet clothes off and put the dry ones on. "Misfits, nice." he mumbled again as he looked himself in the mirror. He felt naked without his sleeves, his self harm scars very obvious. 'Maybe Gerard won't say anything? Everyone does though.' He thought to himself before finally going back to meet Gerard on the couch.
"Seriously? Killer klowns?" Frank joked as he finished his coffee quickly. He felt safe here.
Him and Gerard stayed up for a few more hours before finally getting tired. They said goodnight and Gerard made his way back upstairs and disappeared into what Frank assumed was his room.
Frank got cozy on the couch with the soft blankets and comfy pillows that the other had given him, slowly drifting to sleep as the TV played in the background.
