Zara got out of the car, holding Rex, who barked at Tyler aggressively. The brown-haired man backed away slowly, clearly scared of the dog. Zara petted Rex softly, heading towards Adam.
Rex had heterochromia, making him unique enough for Zara to adopt him. One of his eyes was cobalt blue, and the other was dark brown.
Adam rested his hand on Zara's arm, happy to see her. Zara put her hand on his cheek, stroking it softly. "Don't worry, Adam. I'm here now. Everything's gonna be okay." She reassured him. "Just remember what we talked about."
Adam nodded.
