Anna, David, John, Mary and Peter were among the few survivors of a zombie outbreak that devastated Honiara, the capital city of Solomon Islands. They had managed to escape the city by stealing a boat and sailing to the nearby islands, where they hoped to find a safe haven. They had heard rumors that there was a military base in New Guinea that was still operational and could provide them with shelter and supplies. They decided to make their way there, hoping to avoid the hordes of undead that roamed the land and sea.
They sailed for several days, avoiding the main islands and sticking to the smaller ones. They had to scavenge for food and water, and occasionally fight off zombies that had washed ashore or swam to their boat. They also had to deal with the harsh weather, the rough seas, and the constant fear of being attacked. They had no map, no compass, no radio, and no idea how far they were from their destination. They only had each other, and their will to survive.
One day, they spotted a large island on the horizon. They recognized it as New Guinea, the second largest island in the world and home to many diverse cultures and languages. They felt a surge of hope, thinking that they were finally close to safety. They steered their boat towards the island, hoping to find the military base or at least some friendly people who could help them.
As they approached the island, they saw a large city on the coast. They assumed it was Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea and the largest city in the Pacific. They thought that maybe there were still some people alive there, and that they could find some help. They decided to dock their boat at the nearest port and explore the city.
They soon realized that they had made a terrible mistake. The city was overrun by zombies, and there was no sign of life. They had walked into a trap, and they had no way out. They were surrounded by the undead, who were attracted by their noise and movement. They had to fight for their lives, using whatever weapons they had or could find. They had to stick together, and watch each other's backs.
They managed to reach a building that looked like a hotel. They barricaded the doors and windows, and searched for a safe place to hide. They found a room on the top floor, and locked themselves in. They hoped that the zombies would not be able to reach them, and that they would be able to rest and regroup. They were exhausted, hungry, thirsty, and scared. They had no idea what to do next, or if they would ever make it out alive.
They tried to comfort each other, and to keep their spirits up. They shared their stories, their dreams, their fears, and their hopes. They prayed to God, and asked for His mercy and protection. They also tried to contact the military base, using a radio they had found in the hotel lobby. They hoped that someone would hear their distress signal, and come to their rescue.
They waited for hours, but no one answered. They started to lose hope, and to wonder if they were the only ones left alive. They wondered if there was any point in continuing to fight, or if they should just give up and accept their fate. They wondered if they would ever see their families and friends again, or if they would die alone and forgotten.
They decided to make one last attempt to escape. They gathered their weapons and supplies, and prepared to face the zombies. They knew that their chances were slim, but they refused to give up. They had survived so far, and they were not going to let the zombies win. They were going to fight until the end, and try to reach the military base or another safe place. They were going to live, or die trying.
They opened the door, and ran towards the stairs. They encountered a horde of zombies, and started to shoot and slash their way through. They were outnumbered and outmatched, but they fought with courage and determination. They made it to the ground floor, and headed for the exit. They saw their boat, and ran towards it. They hoped that it was still functional, and that they could sail away from the city.
They reached the boat, and climbed on board. They started the engine, and tried to steer it away from the port. They saw more zombies coming towards them, and tried to fend them off. They also saw a helicopter flying above them, and heard a voice on the radio. It was the military, and they had heard their signal. They were here to rescue them, and to take them to the base. They were overjoyed, and thanked God for His grace and mercy. They had made it, and they were going to be safe.
They waved at the helicopter, and signaled for it to land on their boat. They prepared to board it, and to leave the city behind. They looked at each other, and smiled. They had survived, and they had done it together. They were a team, and they were friends. They were alive, and they had hope. They were ready for a new start, and a new life. They were the survivors of Honiara, and they were the heroes of New Guinea.
