Some people believe being rich is a blessing, others a curse. I think of being rich as both. My name is Y/n Randolph one of the three richest people in the world. The reason I believe that being rich is a blessing and curse is because I can go anywhere I want and make friends with people in high places. The flip side is that anywhere I go people are always trying to kill me.
One such event happened in my hometown of Duluth. I was out for a walk on the beach of Lake Superior when someone launched a net on top of me. They walked up and put a suppressed pistol to my head.
"Daniella sends her regards," the man said pulling the trigger.
When I came to I heard a familiar voice.
"You're dead, I'm death," Death said. "Let's get the paperwork started how did you die?"
He then looked at me.
"Oh, Y/n," he said with a warm smile. "I wasn't expecting you for another thirty to forty years."
"I was killed by a hired gun," I said.
"I see, unfortunately there is nothing I can do," Death said.
"I understand," I said looking down.
"Oh, is that Y/n I hear?" I hear Laverne ask from the next room.
"Hey, Lavern," I said.
I take a seat in one of the chairs in Death's office.
"Would you like any refreshments?" Laverne asked.
"If it's not too much to ask for, could I get some of those snickerdoodles that you made me the last time and Earl Gray tea?" I asked.
"It's not too much I just made a batch," Laverne said. "It will only be a minute for the tea."
"Ok, thank you," I said giving my attention back to Death.
"Like I was saying there is nothing I can do," Death said before pulling a file out of his desk. "But we do have a contingency plan built for you."
"A what?" I asked.
Laverne brought me a cup of tea and a plate of snickerdoodles.
"There you are sweetie," she said.
"Thank you," I said.
"A couple of friends of yours have built a contingency plan for if you ever ended up on the road to Hell," Death said. "Or if you so choose to utilize the plan anyway."
I then remembered the friends I made.

Flashback
The first friend I made was Celty Sturluson she is a Dullahan who resides in Japan but is from Ireland.
I met her when someone tried to kill me and she saved me. I explained who I was and she brought me to her and her fiancé's house. I helped her with a few things here and there. That was about the time I met Death himself. She had introduced me to him.
The next friend was at a nightclub called Lux. Lucifer Morningstar is probably the most interesting and amazing friend I've ever had. He told me that he would be there for me if I needed anything.
End Flashback

"The contingency plan allows you the use of the powers and abilities that the people who made this file possess," Death said. "Lucifer states specifically what powers you are allowed to use."
I still couldn't believe that I, a mere mortal, would have friends who would allow me the use their abilities in the afterlife.
"Unfortunately the use of the abilities and powers are only granted if you go to Hell," Death said. "That is Lucifer's final word on the contingency."
"Well I think I will go with the contingency plan since they put the work into it," I said.
"Are you sure?" Death questioned. "You can't change your decision once it's done."
"I'm sure," I said with determination.
"You are always welcome here," he said.
"See you soon, Y/n," Laverne said.
Death snapped his fingers and everything vanished.
I open my eyes and see a red sky.
"Where am I?" I asked.
I look around and see that I'm in a city of sorts.
"You're in IMP city," a short imp said. "Now give me your wallet!"
"I don't think you know how this works," I said.
"What?" The imp asked confused brandishing a knife. "I said give me your wallet!"
I reached behind me and pulled out Celty's scythe.
"Like I said, I don't think you know how this works," I said.
I see him shaking. He dropped the knife and ran, I guess to change his pants.
I released the scythe and it disappeared.
"Cool," I said.
I left the alley I was in and walked around the city. After a few hours of walking, I thought for a second.
"Where am I going to stay?" I asked myself.
I grabbed my phone and scrolled through my contacts until I saw Lucifer's name. I clicked on it and after a few moments, he picked up.
"Hello," he said.
"Hey, Lucifer," I said. "You are going to get a kick out of this."
"Why is that?" He asked.
"I'm in your domain," I said.
"You are?" he asked.
"I don't have a place to stay nor am I familiar with the ways of Hell," I said.
"I will be there shortly," he said. "Just hang tight."
He hung up the phone. After about an hour I saw him walking up to me.
"I thought I told him to stay here?" He asked himself.
"I'm right here," I said.
"Nice try but I think the one I'm looking for is not a stray Hellhound," he said to me.
"What are you talking about Lucifer?" I asked. "It's me, Y/n Randolph."
"Well this is a new sight for me, humans don't normally end up in Hell as a Hellhound," Lucifer said. "Hellhounds are used for cheap labor and bodyguards."
"Great," I said sarcastically.
"Well, either way, there is a Royal that needs a bodyguard and since you are a Hellhound that works out perfectly," he said. "You are free to do whatever you like, but if you choose to be his bodyguard tell me if you change your mind on the matter."
I nodded and we began walking to the Royal's mansion. When we got to the door Lucifer rang the doorbell. When the door opened there was an imp that greeted us.
"Hello, Master Lucifer," the imp said with a heavy British accent. "Please come in and I shall fetch Master Stolas at once."
The imp left and we are now standing in the foyer of the mansion.
"Just a heads up, Stolas is very eccentric," Lucifer said.
"Lucifer, you know me from when I was alive," I said with a little laugh. "You told me I was eccentric."
"Well he is VERY eccentric I have never met anyone that comes close to him," Lucifer said.
"Ah, Lucifer, how are you," an owl-looking demon said.
He was wearing a robe that wasn't fully covering his shoulders.
"Hello Stolas I have a request for you," Lucifer said. "This Hound here is a friend of mine who has recently died and doesn't have a place to stay."
I stepped forward.
"Hello, my name is Y/n Randolph it's a..." I said but was cut off.
"No, I'm not allowing that thing in my home!" A Female Owl demon yelled.
"Ma'am I..." I tried.
"Shut up!" She yelled. "I don't recall giving you, a bottom-rank demon, permission to speak."
"Stella, be careful of what you say," Stolas said tilting his head toward Lucifer.
"Lady Stella, this is a dear friend of mine who has recently died and was turned into a Hound," Lucifer said in a calm tone of voice.
Lucifer then started to look angered.
"... So if I find that you have mistreated him in any way whatsoever you will answer to me personally," Lucifer said, poison dripping in his voice. "Do we understand?"
"Y-yes, s-sir," she said, terror in her voice.
"Marvelous, now he is in your hands and will protect you and your family," Lucifer said. "He has the choice to leave whenever he chooses but will notify you and me when he does."
After that Lucifer took his leave and Stolas showed me to the room I would be staying in.
After walking about halfway down the long hall on the second floor, we stopped at a door. Stolas opened the door and guided me in.
"This is your room," Stolas said. "I hope that it is to your liking."
I look at the room and it is not far off from what I had in my living life. A four-post canopy bed atop a Persian rug, a master bathroom, and a walk-in closet.
"Very much so," I said. "Not far from what I had before."
"You were royalty?" Stolas asked.
"Yes and no," I answered. "My bloodline has royalty in it but I was not crowned, just given the title of eccentric billionaire."
"I see," Stolas said. "I feel you should get some sleep with the long day you have had."
"Yeah, Thank you for opening your home to me," I said.
"Well if Lucifer requests it is to be followed," Stolas said. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight," I said.
I walked to the bed and fell into it falling asleep almost on contact.
