The next day I woke up to Blitzo standing across the room with his arms crossed and a pissed-off look on his face.
"Something wrong Blitzo?" I asked.
"Something wrong? Something wrong?! You Fucked my daughter!" Blitzo exclaimed.
"I understand how it may look," I said. "But I come from royalty I don't do that."
"Excuses, excuses," he said drawing his gun.
"I urge you to reconsider your actions," I negotiated getting shadows ready to grab him and move his gun away.
"Not going to talk your way out of this one," Blitzo said.
"I can guarantee that you WILL lose if you challenge me," I said a little angrier now.
"Challenge accepted," he said but before he could do anything the shadows grabbed him.
"Did you seriously forget that I was the one who caught you sneaking around Stolas's mansion?" I asked.
"Yeah, I kind of did," he said.
"Are you calm enough to talk civilized?" I asked.
He nodded. I released him and gave him the gun back. We went to the kitchen and sat at the table.
"I respect you and your daughter too much to do that to either of you," I said. "We only confessed and fell asleep."
"I-I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions," he apologized.
"No harm, no foul," I said.
We sat there in silence for a minute.
"Stolas invited us to the Harvest Moon Festival as guests this time instead of security," he said.
"No actual work today?" I asked. "Finally."
"Something wrong with our work?" He asked.
"No, but the same thing day in and day out gets tedious," I explain.
"Understandable," he said.
At that point, Loona came out of her room.
"Hey beautiful," I said.
"You mother fucker!" Blitzo yelled jumping over the table to wring my neck but I stopped him with the shadows again.
"Seriously?" I asked. "I told you that you will lose if you challenge me."
"Hey Dad," Loona said.
Blitzo stopped struggling against my shadows.
"He saved me from a creep last night," she said.
"You... did?" He asked.
I nod.
Blitzo sat back down with an embarrassed look that soon turned into joy.
"Wait... did you just call me dad?" Blitzo asked.
"Yeah, I'm in the best mood I have been in for the longest time," Loona said.
I looked at Blitzo and he motioned for me to follow him to the next room.
"I know that you are not that afraid of me and all," Blitzo said earning a look of question from me. "But I want you to know that I'm happy that she found someone who makes her happy, and if you hurt her I will try my damnedest to kill you."
"I understand and you have my word that I will not do anything to hurt her," I promised.
We went back to the kitchen and got some breakfast. After breakfast, we got ready and headed out to get Moxxie and Millie.
After a long drive, we arrived at a ranch in the Wrath Ring. We exit the van and Millie runs to the imps waiting on the porch. Millie introduces us.
"Mom, Dad, these are my coworkers," she said pointing to each of us and naming us off. "This is Blitzo, Loona, Y/n, and you remember my husband Moxxie."
"Joe, Lin. It's nice to see you again." Moxxie greeted. "How is it down here with the fire twisters and all?"
"We lost a good farm hand to last week," Joe said gritting his teeth.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to open that wound, sir," Moxxie apologized.
"Where am I taking these bags to?" I asked holding everyone's luggage.
"Oh my... Y/n don't hurt yourself hon!" Lin exclaimed worried.
"Don't worry, I'm not even breaking a sweat," I assured.
"I'll show ya where to go," Joe said.
He leads me to a room on the second floor of the house just off the stairs. I set everything down and follow Joe back outside. As we reach the bottom floor I get an off feeling.
"Somethin' the matter, Y/n?" Joe asked.
"Something just doesn't seem right," I said.
We continue outside to find everyone at the fence cheering and whistling.
I look over and see Moxxie in the mud and an imp standing on top of a dead animal with his hands up in victory. After the animal was cooked up we all ate on the back porch.
"I'm Striker by the way," Striker said.
"Y/n," I said.
It was silent for a moment then Lin spoke up.
"So Y/n, I never got to askin' how did you handle all them bags by yourself?" Lin asked.
"It's a very long and interesting story," I said. "When I was young I fell into a nuclear reactor..."
"Really?" Moxxie asked.
"I'm just yanking your chain," I said laughing.
I then explained everything that I had been through.
"That's a load of shit," Striker said. "Everyone knows that the dead are confined to the ring of Pride."
"I spilled my guts, if you don't believe me oh well," I said.
I stood up, grabbed my plate and everyone else's that was done, and brought them inside.
"I'm going to turn in," I said before entering the house.
Everyone said good night except for Loona who was following me like a lost puppy.
"Something wrong?" She asked when we entered the house.
"Something feels off about Striker," I said.
"How do you mean?" Loona asked.
"I don't know," I said. "It's like there is a malicious energy around me."
"I'm sure it's nothing," Loona said.
"You're right maybe it's just the heat getting to me," I said.
We went to the room we were staying in and went to sleep.
The Next Day
We woke up and went downstairs for breakfast.
"Y/n, I think you should enter the fighting festivities," Joe said.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I mean that with your strength you can win the fights, no problem," Joe said.
"Thanks for the compliment," I said. "But it wouldn't be fair to the other participants."
"Are you sure?" Joe asked.
"Yes," I answered going back to my breakfast.
After breakfast, we got ready and headed to the festival.
It had food stands and games of all kinds. We spent the better part of five hours playing games and eating food from the stands. I won a game where you hit a button with a mallet to ring the bell. The grand prize was a stuffed animal that I gave to Loona. She hugged the stuffed animal and kissed me on the cheek.
"Thank you," she said. "I love it."
We went to the main event stage where Stolas was on stage waiting to give his speech.
I didn't hear the majority of the speech, I was lost in thought about yesterday. When I came back to reality Striker was on stage singing a song.
I left at that point and Loona followed.
We decided to stand off to the side of the festivities.
An hour later we both heard a whistle.
"Damn it, Blitzo!" Loona exclaimed.
"Let's go bail his ass out," I said.
We get to Joe and Lin's house and get to the room opposite where we were staying. As we enter we see Striker at the window with a sniper trained on the festival's main stage.
"Stolas," I whisper.
I ran at Striker and grabbed him by the neck. This caused him to drop the sniper.
"I knew something didn't feel right about you!" I exclaimed.
"You're not far off," he said.
Before I could do anything he fired a shot from his handgun and I heard Loona yelp.
I turned and saw Loona on the floor.
"No," I said dropping Striker. "Loona? Loona, please open your eyes."
"Have fun trying to catch me," Striker taunted.
All I saw was red. Striker had jumped out of the window and Blitzo ran to shoot him but he was already gone.
"He got away," Blitzo said.
I looked at where he shot Loona and luckily it wasn't life-threatening. She opened her eyes and I pulled her into a hug.
"I thought I'd lost you," I whispered.
I picked her up and took her downstairs to the living room. I laid her down on the couch and grabbed the first aid kit to wrap up her wound.
