Last night I had a dream, maybe it was a glimpse into my future, I could not be sure. But it showed a life similar to my mother's and the morning following, I awoke with a heavy heart, and the constant prayer on my tongue, 'to not live my mothers fate'. It might sound like a dreadful thing for a daughter to say. But that's all I want. To not become like my mother, but it only reminds me Oscar Wilde's quote 'Every woman becomes their mother. That's their tragedy.' and that poem "Often father and daughter look down on mother (woman) together. They exchange meaningful glances when she misses a point. They agree that she is not bright as they are, cannot reason as they do. This collusion does not save the daughter from the mother's fate."
So, that is who I dedicate this book to
The daughters who don't wish to become theirs mothers.
-
This book is for the girls that don't want to end up like their mothersThe ones who wish to live on their own terms.
The ones who won't have to live through their daughters, like their mothers once did.
May we all break generational curses and live fulfilling and beautiful lives.
