"Hey Tash, you coming to the party tonight?" askes Alex. There has never been a moment in my life when Alexander hasn't been there. He was there when I learnt to ride my bike when we were six and he was there when I made a mess of my hair in the fifth grade. I can't imagine him not being there, as he is always there was no matter what.
Running his hand through his tangled dirty blond hair, he looks at me with his glistening ice blue eyes that I can't refuse, no matter what. Looking away, I respond with an answer I know he will not like.
"Nope," I reply still refusing to look into his eyes. "I have to study. You know this."
"But," he tries to get out.
"No buts," I quickly get in. Trying to focus on my work in front of me.
"Fine," he huffs. "Just so you know, if you aren't going then I'm not going."
"Ok," I reply not caring that much. "You should be studying as well."
"I thought that, that would work," he replies thinking. "I will be back."
Hearing his footsteps fade away from me, I finally focus solely on studying.
Minutes later, laughter comes cascading down the hall followed by several pairs of loud footsteps. Shortly after my door swings open and in come four teenage boys as well as Alex. They scramble around the room, finding places to sit.
"A little birdy told me that you," Carl points at me, "are not going to my party later." Sighing I answer him.
"Yeah, cause I have to study," I reply, stating the obvious. They were starting to irritate me.
"For what?" comes Quinn's voice.
"For our history exam in a few days," I reply, quickly losing focus on studying because of these boys.
"So what you are saying is that you are free now?" askes Charlie.
"No," I reply, finally turning around. "I said, that I have to study."
"So, free?" askes Alex looking at me with those hypnotising eyes of his.
Sighing, I reply. "Fine." The boys cheers surround the room. "But. After this I am studying." Head nods come from around the room. "Leave so I can get changed then."
Rushing footsteps surround the room as they quickly leave me alone. "Boys." I say under my breath once I was sure they had all left. Closing my door I left to go change.
Inspecting my outfit in the hanging mirror, I start to critique myself. My slightly larger stomach was looking bigger then usual. Turning to my side, I inspect it more and try to suck as much in as I can. Still not happy, I move on. Looking down at my thighs, I decide that they are also too big. I grip at them and pull to try to elongate them and lose some of it's fullness. It doesn't work. Tears start to blur my vision as I focus more and more on the parts of my body I don't like.
A knock sounds at the door. Quickly wiping my eyes, I answer the door. Alex stands there in a tight red shirt showing off his flat stomach and loose jeans. He looks ready for the party. Moving to the side, I allow him to enter. He walks in and immediately sits on my bed.
"You look good," I say to him, in a monotone voice.
"Thanks. So do you," he replies, enthusiastically. Out of the corner of my eye I glance at the mirror. I don't believe his words and don't accept his compliment. Grabbing my phone, I head towards the door.
"Ready to go," I ask him.
"Yep," he replies as he stands up. I look one last time at the mirror then go out the door with him. Getting closer towards the party, my stomach does flips and makes my anxiety hit the roof.
I already don't plan on being here long so I can go and study. Outside the door, I take one last deep breath. Alex opens the door and we enter the dorm.
