I wake up to the lovely smell of eggs and bacon being cooked in the kitchen. Grumble. My stomach wants some food, it seems. I jump out of bed and venture out to find where the kitchen was again. Once I find it, I am graced with the vision of my mate dancing around the kitchen to ABBA while wearing an apron that reads 'I RUN ON CAFFEINE, SARCASM & INAPPROPRIATE THOUGHTS'. I hold in my laugh while watching him. He whirls around, sees me, and screams the house down.
"Oh hey," he says, trying to play it off. "How did you sleep after last night?"
"Better, thanks," I reply.
"Thats good," he replies turning around to finish cooking breakfast. Once he is finished, he places the food on different plates and sets them on the table in the dining room. On one plate to the right of the main chair at the head of the table are grilled mushrooms.
"Who is those for?" I question, pointing towards the end of the table.
"Oh, those are for my mum," he replies nonchalantly. "She can't have any of the meat so she gets mushrooms instead."
"Oh, how come?" I question before I can stop myself. "Sorry, you don't have to answer that."
"Nonsense dear," replies a voice that I haven't heard before. "I will be happy to."
I turn towards the voice to see a woman with similar facial features to both Liam and Tiffany.
"The reason as to why I do not have any meat is due to me being a full wolf," she answers. Before I can ask what a full wolf is, she continues. "A full wolf is someone who cannot have any meat incase they 'wolf out'."
"So no meat," I say. She nods her head in agreement with me. "But that means no bacon. I don't think I could last with no bacon. I love it too much."
"Actually," Liam cuts in. "Mum doesn't like the taste or smell of bacon so she doesn't mind that much. Do you mum?"
"Yeah," she replies. "Can't be too bummed that I can't eat it if I don't like it."
"BREAKFAST!" screams Liam. I instinctively put my hands over my ears to block out the sound; however no pain comes with it. Liam looks at me funny.
"Why would you put your hands over your ears?" he questions. "You should be used to your werewolf hearing by now."
"That is because that was a reflex," I answer.
"How was it a reflex if you didn't do it just now when you scared the shit out of me?" he continues.
"I don't know," I continue, "Maybe because you weren't right in front of me?"
"It is because now you are used to being an actual werewolf and not a werepup you no longer need to put your hands over your ears and you have got used to it yet resulting in you protecting your ears in case," replies Tiffany, who magically appeared out of thin air.
"Wait," Liam says, coming to a realisation. "How long have you been a werewolf for?"
"I don't actually know how long for sure, as it has been a long few days," I reply. "But I would say around 3 days, why?"
"Because you should still be under the effects of the werepup hearing at least for a few more weeks," replies Liam. "It is incredible that you have gotten out of its effects so fast."
"Ahem," Liam's father coughs. "We should eat, should we not."
"Right, right food," says Liam as he is focused on me. Laughter fills the room as we all go to our unspoken designated spots and sit down to eat.
"So," starts Liam's father. "Where are you from?"
"I am actually not far from here," I reply politely. "I live a few suburbs over." That was an understatement.
"How come you are living under my roof?" their dad questions.
"Well," I reply, feeling like this is an interrogation. "I was being chased by some men." Water splashes out of Liam's mouth.
"WHAT," he growls. "YOU WERE BEING CHASED BY OTHER MALES! WHERE WAS THIS INFORMATION LAST NIGHT!" I let out a sigh.
"Last night?" questions Liam's parents.
"OUT OF ALL THE INFORMATION THAT IS THE THING THAT IS BEING NOTED, THAT SHE SPENT THE NIGHT HERE INSTEAD OF ON THE STREETS!" Liam screams at his parents. He turns to me. "YOU ARE GOING TO TELL ME RIGHT NOW WHO WAS FOLLOWING YOU AND I AM GOING TO GO AFTER THEM RIGHT THIS SECOND!" I start to whimper not liking being yelled at.
"The people who were following me were my friends," I timidly reply. "I had to get away from them, I told you this last night."
"REALLY!" he continued to scream. Seeing my frightened expression, he calms down a little bit. "I could excuse you having one male friend, Hugo, but not multiple. I was under the impression that Charlie and Alex were both girls, not guys."
"Son," Liam's father starts."You cannot control who she is friends with no matter if you approve of them or not."
"But," Liam starts.
"No buts," Liam's father ends. "She is her own person and you cannot tell her to break friendships with people just because you don't approve of them. Trust me it never works out."
"Fine," Liam huffs.
"Anyway," starts Liam's mother. "As we now know that you are aware of the werewolf committee, my name is Luna Lacy and my husband and mate Alpha Cade. The title will be passed down from Cade to Liam. I am going to be blunt. Are you Tiffany or Liam's mate? Or are you just a fling?" Liam started getting red in the face.
"How dare you call my mate a FLING!" he roars. Sighing, Luna turns to Liam.
"I didn't mean to insult," she starts. "I just needed to know because of your track record with women. I am not going to invite some random girl into my house without knowing that she is your mate and not just someone who wants to get in your pants and get the fame of being with the to be alpha. Is she even your fated mate, or is she a chosen mate?"
"Mother," starts Liam tone flat. "I am going to say this once and only once. You are only the Luna of this pack because Dad chose you. You are not his fated mate as he died in a crash a long time ago. You were chosen due to your full wolfness and was thought to believe that you would pass that trait to me. Luckily it didn't otherwise I would not be sitting with my fated mate over there who loves bacon. So, don't come near me and say how she doesn't deserve to be there when you yourself was a chosen mate and not a fated one."
"How dare you say that to your mother," says Cade. "Apologise now!"
"No," Liam replies. "She is insulting my fated mate right in front of me while she herself is not a fated mate to an alpha. She has the audacity to accuse my mate of wanting the fame of being mated to an alpha when the whole reason she was there to begin with was her wanting fame and money that the alpha can provide. So no, I will not apologise" Liam gets up and storms up the stairs. I get up and go upstairs behind him.
