Sirius headed straight to James and Lily once he spotted them in the common room and without thinking about Lily's presence, he blurted out: "James, I did it!" "And? How was it?", asked James. "Incredible! Almost indescribable! It was just..." and like that Sirius continued for about ten minutes. Meanwhile Lily left to find Remus, because she had a feeling that the boy would also need someone to talk to.

Once she reached the dormitory, she saw Remus who was laying on his back and blankly staired at the ceiling. Slowly she approached him and sat down on the edge of his bed. After a few seconds of silence Remus just blurted out everything on his mind. Lily was a really good friend of his and he trusted her, also he knew that she would never judge him. "Lily, that was my first kiss...ever. It was not really my choice, but it was better than I imagined. I was not able to think straight! [A.N.: pun intended xD] It was just WOW!" "Well...I am not really an experienced kisser myself, but my first kiss was not like that. I think that this might not be a coincidence." Lily was not sure, if she should voice her full thought process, but she figured that the matchmaking might be more effective if Remus came to the realization himself.

Remus was still staring at the ceiling and his voice sounded a bit sad while he added: "But the kiss was just a test for Sirius. He wanted to practice for his date and he was very clear about that beforehand." "That's right, but the way he told James and me about the kiss, when he came back down into the common room, well that was pretty similar to what you experienced yourself...", Lily stated truthfully. "What? Really?" Suddenly Remus sat up and for the first time he actually looked at Lily. "Remus, I really don't want to give you the wrong impression, but Sirius was really happy and enthusiastic about your kiss." Lily was not sure, if Remus interpreted his own behavior the way Lily did, but for her it was pretty clear that both boys had to be at least a little bit too interested in the other one for just being friends. Lily realized that Remus got quiet and she saw that he was thinking. Maybe her words had been enough and Remus would be able to be more clear about his own feelings. Lily decided that it would be best, if she talked to Sirius next, so she left an at least slightly less confused Remus behind in the boys' dormitory.

First, Lily hoped that Sirius would still be in the common room talking to James, so she wouldn't have to go looking for him, but when she returned to their table there was only James, who actually looked really focused on his homework. Lily smiled. She was glad that she opened up to him and that she gave him a chance. And although she would never admit that, but Remus and Sirius descriptions about their kiss really reminded her of her first kiss with James. 'Lily! Focus!', she scolded herself and sat down next to James.

"How is Remus?", asked James with a slightly worried look on his face. "He's fine. I would say that he is on the right track concerning his own feelings. He might not be able to fully admit to them, but at least is not as oblivious as Sirius." "Yeah about Sirius...", James actually sounded kind of disappointed: "One big problem remains: his date with Veronica. He really enjoyed the kiss, but he is determined to go on that date and I don't think that he actually connected the feelings he had during the kiss to Remus." Lily frowned. She had to admit that the whole Veronica thing didn't really help their plan, but maybe talking to Sirius would help. "Do you know where Sirius might be now?", Lily asked and James guessed that she might find him in the astronomy tower. "Okay than I will try to talk to him, maybe I can change his mind... at least about the date.", she sounded more confident than she actually felt, but James simply nodded and wished her good luck.
