Song: Secret- Denmark + Winter
The Witch
I woke up in my bed alone, tucked neatly in the thick duvet. There was a note on my nightstand. A tired smile spread across my face as flashes of what happened last night popped into my head.
I sat up, yawning tiredly rolling out my neck and shoulders a bit.
I reached over to grab the note and began to read it. My vision was a bit blurry from sleep, so I rubbed my eyes and continued to read.
The warm fuzzy feeling died. Instantly. I crumpled the paper—
Wait.
I picked the paper back up. This was real. Not just some illusion.
My eyes darted to the window, which was wide open. Wind blew through the curtains allowing me to see the slate gray sky up overhead.
Panic closed up my windpipe.
This one piece of paper was making me question if any of it was actually my imagination. What if they had already cracked open my defenses?
I had to get my shit together.
There was no way that he could have broken in. My protection spell was simple, but it was air tight.
But then again, that demon had left a mark on me.
I instinctively touched where the knife had gone through my skin. It didn't hurt like how a knife wound should. Instead it just ever so slightly burned.
I couldn't let Gen in on my problem. She'd flip out and make things worse. I needed to search for help elsewhere.
The infamous Calliope Lovett was the only name to pop into my mind. She had a track sheet a mile long of poorly executed spells. And I was pretty sure the coven revoked her craft license. But when she got them right, they would hold enough firepower to hold back anything from beyond this plane.
This was a gamble. But it was a risk that had to be taken.
I was going to be dragged down to hell whether or not I took this route.
