Warning! Home invasion, kidnapping, gunshots, guns, violence. If this is a trigger, I will put a warning before the part.
2nd person P.O.V
As you walked home, your thoughts drifted to the anime you had promised to watch with Furina about a week ago.
"I still need to watch The Promised Neverland with Furina," you thought. "We haven't gotten around to it yet. I'll bring it up another time."
You recalled that you had made this promise because Furina had kindly bought you the bandages you needed to replenish your supply.
(A/N: If I get one hundred votes, I'll write a special chapter with a chosen character for Y/n, even though I doubt that'll happen. But hey, I know I've got five engaged readers, and that makes me happy!)
As you continued walking, a peculiar thought flitted through your mind.
"Someone once decided to add crushed rocks to their food, and now we have salt," you mused with a quiet chuckle. The thought made you hum softly, and soon you found yourself singing a lullaby to calm your nerves. Before long, you were spinning and dancing along the sidewalk, lost in the melody.
When you finished singing, you realized that a small crowd of young children had gathered around you, watching with a mixture of curiosity and admiration. Embarrassed, you quickly looked down, your cheeks flushing.
A little girl, her eyes wide with wonder, piped up, "Miss, I want to be like you when I grow up! I want to be as pretty as you!"
You smiled warmly at her, slightly taken aback by her enthusiasm. "I think you're already quite pretty, little one. And trust me, being too pretty can be an unforgiving curse, which may make your life unbearable. By the way, what's your name?"
"My name is Soleil!" she exclaimed, her smile as bright as the sun her name suggested.
"Well, Soleil, I hope you never experience pain or suffering and that you always shine brightly in others' lives," you said gently. You ushered her back to her mother and waved as they left, the crowd slowly dispersing. Deciding not to draw any more attention, you continued your walk home in silence.
As you strolled past a floral shop, the scent of fresh blooms filled the air. You paused for a moment, inhaling deeply, before deciding to head home before it got dark.
Timeskip brought to you by: One year on Earth is sixty Teyvat years. By the time you're twenty, you'd be twelve hundred years old.
Upon reaching your modest home, you fumbled with your keys and unlocked the door. Stepping inside, you kicked off your shoes and made your way upstairs. Just as you reached your bedroom door, you heard footsteps approaching your front door.

Panic surged through you as you realized you hadn't locked it. You rushed down the stairs, frantically jamming the key into the lock. Your hands trembled, making the task more difficult. As you struggled, the doorknob turned slowly from the outside. You threw your weight against the door, trying to buy yourself time to secure the lock. In a desperate move, you dialed a familiar number on your phone, hoping they would answer.
"Please pick up, please," you whispered, voice breaking. On the third ring, they answered.
"Yes?"
Relief washed over you. "Oh, thank Kami you answered. Someone's trying to break in. I can't hold the door much longer. Please, come over or send someone!"
You barely registered their response, focusing instead on the increasing force against the door. Suddenly, a gunshot rang out, and a sharp pain seared through your side. You gasped, clutching your phone tighter.
"Someone's breaking in—please, hurry!" you choked out, fighting to keep conscious as you pressed your body against the door. "Stop it!"
"I'll be there soon! Just hold on!" They replied hastily before hanging up.
"Please hurry," you muttered, feeling blood seep from your wound. You took deep breaths, trying to slow your heart rate and stem the bleeding. Another gunshot shattered the air, this time striking your left calf. You screamed, the pain unbearable. Who shoots someone so many times, how rude and impolite.
"I won't shoot you if you open the door," a deep, menacing voice called from outside. You bit your lip, refusing to respond, tears streaming down your face. Another gunshot, and your right thigh took the bullet. You grunted in pain, sobs escaping your lips.
"Go away!" you shouted, desperation tinging your voice. But your words were futile. The door burst open, knocking you to the ground. You scrambled into a sitting position, eyes wide with terror as the intruder entered your home.
He was tall, with a cruel smile plastered across his face. "Such a pretty face," he sneered.
You tried to get up, but your legs gave out, and you collapsed. "No, no, no," you whimpered, fear constricting your throat. The man approached, his steps slow and deliberate. He reached you and delivered a swift kick to your stomach. You doubled over, coughing and gasping for air.
As you lay there, wracked with pain, a sudden, searing agony shot through your body. You felt your vision blur, the world around you fading into darkness. Maybe you'll ask later what they saw?
