The day.
On May 3 2023, a school shooting occurred at Vladislav Ribnikar Model Elementary School in Vračar municipality of Belgrade, Serbia.
The shooter, identified as a 13-year-old male student (aka Kosta Kecmanovic), opened fire on students and staff, resulting in the deaths of 9 students and 1 security guard. 5 students and a teacher also sustained injuries.
The shooting began at around 8:40 pm.
After entering the school, Kosta immediately pulled out a gun from his backpack and shot the school security guard (Dragan Vlahović) 14 times.
He then shot 2 hall monitors that he saw in the hallway (Bojana Asović & Ana Boźović), and shot 1 more after seeing her getting out of the bathroom (Sofija Negić), after he reloaded his gun while heading to the History classroom. Upon entering, Kosta shot at the history teacher (Tatjana Stevanović) 4 times and then fired at numerous people. Killing another 6 (Katarina Martinović, Mara Andjelković, Andrija Čikić, Ema Kobiljski, Angelina Aćimović & Adriana Dukić) and 5 others were wounded.
Kosta ran through the hallway and into the courtyard, where he contacted the police at 8:42 pm
It is a RUMOR that he had told the police
"I need to calm down" or "I'm a psycho and I need to calm down"
(NONE OF THESE WERE CONFIRMED)Kosta used 2 pistols and in his backpack there was 4 Molotive Cocktails.
Kosta said he planned to set fire to the school. After Kosta surrendered willingly he was taken to custody. However, he could not face legal charges due to his age being under 14.
Instead legal actions have been initiated against his parents. The father places charges for acts against public safety, while the mother was charged with child neglect.First chapter :) let me know if I need to add anything.
