When you get home and use the DNA sensor to get through the gates, you hear a voice behind you.
"Wait for me!" It's Keefe. He skids through the gates just before they close, and catches up with you guys. You look up and see Biana at the window, glaring at you before she disappears. Oh well, you think. She's bad for you anyway.
"You guys wanna play base quest?" Fitz asks. Sophie doesn't look confused, so you assume that they played a few days ago, when you heard Sophie come round but Biana didn't let you go and play with them. Like you said, bad for you.
"Sure!" You and Keefe both say at the same time. You look at each other and burst out laughing.
"Okay, no cheating, but special abilities can be used." Says Fitz.
"But that's not fair! Me and Sophie don't have any!" You fold your arms, but Fitz just laughs and tells you to deal with it. Fitz and Keefe run off, and you and Sophie sit down under a tree and start talking.
"So how's ability detecting going?" She asks you. You groan and put you head in your hands. "Terrible! Today, they put us in a giant oven to see if any of us were frosters. Which we weren't, because frosting is a stupid ability and no one has it." She laughs.
"That sounds tough. Shall we go find the boys?" She asks you. You nod and you both jump up. Sophie immediately runs in the direction of the lake, so you frown and follow her. Eventually, you hear something and put a finger to your lips. Sophie nods. You creep towards the reeds, and jump on Fitz. He jumps.
"Y/N! You scared me! How did you find us so fast?" Keefe comes out from behind him as Fitz is talking. You put your finger to his lips and tell him it's a secret. You get out of the plants and scramble back to the tree that you and Sophie were sitting under. When you get there, you see Biana coming from the house. You spin around and jog to meet the others.
"What's wrong, Y/N?" Asks Fitz.
"Biana's coming." You say. Keefe buts in, frowning.
"What's wrong with Biana?"
"She's scary."
"You let her control your life for ages, live a little! Just go talk to her." He reasons with you. You shrug. Biana walks over to you guys.
"What are you four doing?" She somehow manages to glare at all of you at once.
"Playing Base Quest." You answer. She looks at you and her hand flies to her mouth.
"Y/N! Look! You've got mud all over your tunic!" She gasps. You look down. She's right.
"And?" You ask. She looks at you with disbelief.
"And, you're coming with me to go clean up, I want to do your hair." She demands, grabbing your arm.
"But I don't want to!" You complain.
"I don't really care. You're coming anyway." Her nails dig into your arm, and she drags you back to the house. You look back desperately at the others, but Fitz just shrugs, Sophie frowns and Keefe looks apologetic.
When you get inside, you run into Della. She looks at you two.
"What's going on here? Y/N! You're all covered in mud!"
"Sorry mum, I was playing Base Quest with Sophie, Fitz and Keefe."
"Did Biana drag you away?" Della frowns.
"Yes, she-" You begin, but Biana cuts you off.
"No! Of course not!" Biana digs her nails deeper into your wrist, and they begin to draw blood. Della frowns.
"Well, you'd better go upstairs and get cleaned up then. Off you go!" Della carries on walking, and Biana drags you upstairs.
"Gosh, you ruin everything, you know that? At least you have me to keep you under control." She says to you. She pushes you into a chair at your vanity, and pulls a twig out of your hair. You sighed and felt tears fill your eyes.
